TNT, Coty partner for recyclable aluminium caps in Jil Sander fragrance

FRANCE – TNT Group, a premium packaging design company, has partnered with the Coty beauty brand to introduce recyclable aluminium caps for Jil Sander’s latest fragrance collection.

The aluminium-based cap has a black silk-screen printing and white lacquered finish with a recycled polypropylene (PP) insert and a matte effect due to a specific surface treatment.

Thomas Diezinger, co-founder and CEO at TNT Group, said, “The special feature of the bell-shaped cap is that it covers the entire bottle, whose weight can be supported even if the product is only held by the top of the cap, thanks to a special insert.”

The cap design was developed in close collaboration with designers, engineers, and technicians to ensure it meets the high standards of luxury goods.

TNT Group specialises in designing and developing metal packaging materials such as zamak, aluminium, brass and stainless steel for the personal care industry.

The cap is made of a single piece of pressed aluminium and is intended for recycling as it is mainly made of recyclable glass and aluminium.

Diezinger added,“ It is particularly appreciated in the luxury goods industry for its agility, but only when it is well mastered, to ensure that it meets luxury codes such as weight and thickness.”

He also noted that aluminium is highly valued in the luxury goods industry for its agility and circularity, and 70% of it is recycled.

The collaboration between TNT and Jil Sander aims to balance functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability, addressing the growing consumer demand for eco-friendly premium personal care products.

In a similar effort towards sustainable luxury packaging, TNT recently developed a premium perfume bottle for the fine goods and jewellery company Rabanne.

The bottle is made from zamak, a set of zinc alloys and, is entirely recyclable and includes a polypropylene insert assembled by clipping.

The cap base includes a fine groove surmounted by an engraved mark, with a gold e-coated “R” on the top of the cap.

TNT Group’s innovative approach and dedication to sustainability continue to set new standards in the luxury packaging industry, paving the way for more eco-friendly and aesthetically pleasing products.
