KENYA – Suzie Wokabi, a beauty entrepreneur and founder of Suzie Beauty and SB Dada has been appointed the new CEO of O’Bao, a natural cosmetics brand in Kenya.
With over two decades of experience in the beauty industry, Wokabi aims to drive product innovation, enhance brand visibility, and strengthen sustainability efforts.
Her appointment is expected to boost O’Bao’s mission to create eco-friendly, natural skincare products in Kenya for local and global markets.

Wokabi highlighted the importance of the baobab tree as the base ingredient, emphasizing sustainability, social impact, and the movement to “Buy Africa, Build Africa” in the beauty industry.
O’BAO, a brand of Elekea Ltd., has been on the market since 2015 and was relaunched in December 2021 with improved packaging, brand design, and formulations.
The company’s products are Ecocert-certified, ensuring they meet high organic and natural ingredients standards.
O’BAO sources most ingredients locally, traces baobab fruits to their harvesters, benefits grassroots communities, and uses natural ingredients like baobab oil and spirulina with environmentally friendly methods.
They offer natural, plant-based skincare products, including baobab seed oil, detox sets, pre-cleanse oil gel, reef-safe sunscreen, and natural deodorant.
These products are all rooted in science and committed to sustainability, supporting local Kenyan communities.
The company prioritizes sustainability by using glass or recyclable packaging, FSC-compliant cartons without plastic lamination, fully compostable label stickers, and minimal plastic to reduce waste and environmental impact.
