The inaugural Testing & Regulation Forum at in-cosmetics Global 2025 promises to explore key industry challenges, from skin longevity research to global regulatory standards in cosmetics.
NETHERLANDS – The highly anticipated in-cosmetics Global 2025 will feature a new addition to its educational programme: the Testing & Regulation Forum.
Scheduled to launch this April, the event will take place in Amsterdam from the 8th to 10th of the month.
Compared to the 2024 edition, which featured a Sustainability Zone Forum centered on eco-friendly formulations and sustainable certifications, the Testing & Regulation Forum debuting this year marks an expansion of the event’s commitment to scientific validation and regulatory compliance.
This forum will focus on the pressing issues surrounding the cosmetics industry, including advancements in skin longevity, testing standards, and the latest regulatory updates.
A new focus on skin longevity
A major highlight of the forum will be its keynote session on skin longevity, led by Philippe Papadimitriou from Cosystems. Papadimitriou will introduce insights into how cosmetics can play a pivotal role in enhancing the health of the skin over time.
“The key to longevity lies not just in effective ingredients, but in a deeper understanding of how these ingredients interact with the skin’s natural processes,” said Papadimitriou.
This session promises to set the tone for the discussions that follow, offering an in-depth look at how skin care can be fine-tuned for lasting results.
Testing methods at the forefront
The first half of the day will be dedicated to testing, where experts will shed light on the latest scientific approaches to skin care product testing. Dr. José Luis Mullor Sanjosé from Bionos Biotech will lead a session on establishing benchmarks for skin microbiomes.
He will investigate on how understanding the skin’s microbiome can lead to more effective products that promote long-term skin health. “By looking at the microbiome, we can better understand how to keep skin resilient in the face of external challenges,” said Dr. Sanjosé.
Another session, led by Irene Cotogni from Neotron S.p.A, will focus on safety and allergen analysis, particularly around plant-based active ingredients.
Cotogni’s insights are expected to be key for formulators looking to avoid common allergens while ensuring the efficacy of their products.
Regulatory challenges in a global market
The latter half of the day will transition into a detailed exploration of regulatory issues. In collaboration with the European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients (EFfCI), the forum will examine how companies can comply with various regional standards and navigate the complexities of global regulations.
This discussion will be invaluable to businesses operating in multiple markets, as the cosmetics industry faces a growing demand for transparency and compliance.
Elisa Esteve and Inma Gamero from Cosmeservice will take the stage for a session titled ‘Beauty and the Law: Key Points to Consider When Selling Internationally in 2025’.
They will address key regulatory challenges and how businesses can remain competitive while adhering to local and international guidelines.
The forum will conclude with a panel discussion on global regulatory frameworks. Experts including Mojgan Moddaresi from Personal Care Regulatory, Mike Sohn from REACH24H, and Andrea Maltagliati from EFfCI AISBL will highlight the regulatory hurdles facing cosmetic brands today.
They will also provide practical guidance on how brands can adjust their products to meet diverse regional requirements while minimizing environmental impact.
An exciting new chapter for in-cosmetics Global
Roziani Zulkifli, the Event Director for in-cosmetics Global, emphasized the significance of this year’s event. “The 2025 in-cosmetics Global education programme promises to be our most dynamic edition yet,” Zulkifli remarked.
“This year’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and science is central to advancing the beauty industry, and the Testing & Regulation Forum is at the heart of these discussions.”
With a series of insightful panels and expert-led sessions, this year’s event is expected to provide attendees with the knowledge they need to stay competitive in a rapidly changing market.
The Testing & Regulation Forum, in particular, will allow professionals to examine how the latest research and regulations intersect to shape the future of cosmetics.
As the beauty industry continues to evolve, the knowledge shared at in-cosmetics Global 2025 will play a pivotal role in guiding companies through the challenges of product development, regulation, and market trends.
