This launch reflects Beiersdorf’s broader strategy to expand its reach in emerging markets while maintaining its focus on research-driven solutions.
NIGERIA – Beiersdorf, the German multinational personal-care company, has officially launched its Eucerin brand in Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in its mission to deliver science-led dermatological skincare solutions across Africa.
The company aims to tackle issues like unregulated bleaching products by offering scientifically proven alternatives.
Eucerin, known for its science-backed formulations, addresses common skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation, acne, dry skin, and sun protection.
Beiersdorf’s entry into Nigeria with Eucerin builds on its long-standing presence through its NIVEA brand.
According to the company, Eucerin’s innovative products, such as those containing Thiamidol, a molecule effective in treating hyperpigmentation, highlight its dedication to addressing the unique skincare needs of African consumers.
Prof Al-Niaimi, a UK-based Consultant Dermatologist, stated, “This treatment offers a safer alternative to hydroquinone and preserves natural pigmentation without interfering with normal melanocytes or natural black skin pigment.”
“Unlike traditional bleaching agents, it does not cause melanocyte toxicity or disrupt the skin’s natural balance.”
He empasized on the safety of the product stating that it is safe for long-term use – even during pregnancy – does not enter the bloodstream, and is targeted to treat only problem areas, making it a preferred choice among patients with Skin of Colour.
To mark the occasion, the Beiersdorf Central, East & West Africa team recently organized a medical launch event in Lagos, bringing together more than 200 dermatologists, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals.
The gathering highlighted Beiersdorf’s patented Thiamidol range for treating hyperpigmentation and advanced solutions for acne, dry skin, and sun protection.
Recently, Beiersdorf launched the Labello Disney Princess Collection, an enchanting lip balm range inspired by iconic Disney princesses, to celebrate empowerment and individuality.
The collection features four variants: Vanilla Buttercup, Wild Cranberry, Watermelon Sorbet, and Apple Crumble Dreams.
According to the company, each lip balm is formulated with ethically sourced shea butter, natural oils, and vitamins, ensuring 24-hour moisture for naturally healthy-looking lips.
This launch reinforces Beiersdorf’s vision to become the best skin care company in the world – growing with impact, and winning with care.
Meanwhile, Beiersdorf opened a new corporate office in Nairobi, Kenya.
The launch aligns with the company’s broader strategy of enhancing its global footprint and reinforcing its regional operations.
