IFF unveils creative scent centre in Dubai to strengthen its fragrance innovations

This centre is designed to meet the region’s evolving consumer needs through advanced scent performance and delivery solutions.

UAE – IFF, an American corporation renowned for its innovations in scents, flavours, and ingredients, has opened its Scent Creative Centre at the Dubai Science Park Laboratory.

The 2000-square-metre centre is designed to strengthen its fragrance innovations.

It aims to meet the region’s evolving consumer needs through advanced scent performance and delivery solutions.

Erik Fyrwald, IFF CEO, stated, “The Dubai Creative Centre will strengthen our ability to continue winning with customers by delivering innovative solutions tailored to local tastes in fine and consumer fragrance even faster.”

Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities, IFF’s new Scent Dubai Creative Centre blends innovation with cultural inspiration, drawing from local and regional artistic and design heritage.

The centre features a co-creation perfumery studio, a traditional majlis, a perfumery academy, and a semi-industrial production robot designed to accelerate innovation.

Ana Paula Mendonça, president of IFF Scent, said, “Our new creative centre features a significant number of evaluation booths for all scent categories, from fine fragrances to home, fabric, and beauty care, along with a full suite of advanced fragrance technologies.”

“This enables our experts to craft fragrances that excel in desirability, superiority and performance, ensuring every scent solution perfectly addresses different consumer touchpoints.”

According to the company, their scent team has been active in Dubai for over 15 years, playing a key role in shaping the region’s perfumery market and driving the global success of iconic Middle Eastern fragrances.

In addition to perfumery, its Dubai Science Park site supports food and beverage clients with innovative solutions in taste, ingredients, and biosciences.

Recently, the company opened its Citrus Innovation Centre in Lakeland, Florida, in collaboration with Florida Polytechnic University.

The 30,000-square-foot space is designed to support advanced citrus research and product creation across food, fragrance, body care, and home care industries.

The facility includes a digital immersion room, botanical research labs, and areas dedicated to analytics, processing, and product development. It is designed to provide customers with a faster way to test and develop citrus applications, utilising the expertise of IFF and on-site prototyping tools.

The centre is also seen as a platform for professional training and staff rotations, helping shape a future skilled workforce.
