Unilever unveils probiotic cleaning spray

This cleaning product provides a thorough clean that lasts up to 72 hours.

UK – Unilever, a British multinational fast-moving consumer goods company(FMCG), has launched Cif Infinite Clean, a probiotic all-in-one cleaning solution.

Cif Infinite Clean features a unique blend of completely natural probiotics paired with powerful cleaning components to deliver exceptional results.

According to Unilever, this product utilizes advanced microbiome technology, enabling probiotics to stay inactive until they come into contact with dirt, where they then activate to deliver a targeted clean.

Once activated, they release enzymes that break down grime, providing a thorough clean that lasts up to 72 hours.

The spray is versatile, suitable for various surfaces like kitchen countertops, electronics, and even soft furnishings.

It also offers long-lasting odour protection, making it ideal for pet owners.

Eduardo Campanella, Business Group President of Unilever Home Care, stated, “We’re challenging traditional cleaning norms and how people think about cleaning their homes by creating a disruptive cleaning product that harnesses the potency of nature’s probiotics, not just to clean our homes but to provide a longer-lasting clean.”

“This is the power of Cif Infinite Clean; an all-in-one product that keeps on cleaning even after you’ve stopped.”

The product comes in eco-friendly packaging, reducing plastic waste by 50% compared to traditional spray bottles.

In addition, spray features a “continuous mist technology” trigger mechanism, designed to provide an enhanced cleaning experience on a wide range of surfaces.

The product comes at a time when the demand for eco-friendly and sustainable solutions is reshaping the cleaning industry.

This aligns with the rapid expansion of the probiotics-based cleaning products market, which grew from USD 5.03 billion in 2024 to USD 5.48 billion in 2025.

According to a report by Research and Markets, the market is expected to continue its upward trend, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.15% and reaching USD 8.51 billion by 2030.

Previously, Unilever had introduced Cif Cream Cleaner, a household cleaning product.

Known for its non-scratch formula, the product was designed to clean modern surfaces, such as stainless steel and enamel, effectively without causing damage.

Over the years, Cif Cream has undergone continuous innovation to meet the evolving needs of consumers.

Meanwhile, the company acquired personal care brand Wild, expanding its portfolio.

The acquisition aligns with Unilever’s Growth Action Plan 2030, which focuses on expanding into premium and sustainable markets.
