Pulpex, Evolve Organic Beauty launch fibre-based, refillable shower bottles

UK – Pulpex has partnered with Evolve Organic Beauty to develop fibre-based, refillable bottles for the personal care brand’s newest shower products, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to sustainable innovation.

The collaboration marks a significant milestone, as Evolve Organic Beauty becomes the world’s first commercial user of Pulpex’s fiber-based bottle technology.

Evolve’s African Orange Aromatic Hand & Body Wash and Superfood Shine Shampoo are now available in 550 ml refillable formats.

Designed for both convenience and environmental impact, the bottles can be easily refilled at home and recycled through standard paper and cardboard recycling streams.

“At Evolve, our mission has always been to be a force for good, redefining beauty by combining organic, natural formulas with eco-friendly packaging,” said Laura Rudoe, founder of Evolve Organic Beauty.

“Becoming the world’s first commercial users of Pulpex’s sustainable bottles is a major milestone in our journey to drive positive change in the beauty industry. This partnership perfectly aligns with our brand pillars: pure, proven, and purposeful.”

Pulpex, a packaging manufacturer specializing in fibre-based products, focuses on enhancing recyclability and compostability across industries.

Recently, the company secured £62 million (US$78.5 million) from the National Wealth Fund (NWF) and the Scottish Investment Bank to construct a large-scale manufacturing facility in Scotland, aimed at expanding its eco-friendly solutions for global brands.

The launch comes amid a broader shift in the beauty and personal care industry toward refillable and sustainable packaging solutions, driven by consumer demand for products that minimize environmental impact.

Similar initiatives have been gaining momentum. In March, Albéa Cosmetics and Fragrance collaborated with global beauty brand Clarins to provide a cap and inner cup system for its refillable Extra-Firming Cream Technology.

Meanwhile, Eastman partnered with Japanese cosmetic brand Fancl to supply reusable primary packaging and refillable cartridges for its Toiro skincare line — a move that Eastman described as an “important step in circular beauty.”

Consumers can purchase the shatter-proof Tritan cosmetic bottle and cap, after which they only need to buy refill cartridges.

Tara Cary, Eastman’s market manager for Cosmetic Packaging, says: “Fancl needed a material that could check many boxes for this new line. From durability and chemical resistance to aesthetics, Tritan addressed all those challenges.”

Through collaborations like Evolve Organic Beauty and Pulpex, the personal care industry is embracing more circular, responsible packaging strategies, proving that innovation and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.
