MIDDLE EAST – Takasago International Corporation has appointed Bassel Kouchacji as the Managing Director of Fragrance, Middle East, marking a strategic move to strengthen its presence in the region.
With extensive experience in the fragrance industry, Kouchacji is expected to lead Takasago’s operations, driving innovation and market expansion.
His appointment aligns with the company’s vision of enhancing its fragrance portfolio and catering to the evolving preferences of Middle Eastern consumers.
Under his leadership, Takasago aims to leverage its expertise in fine fragrances and consumer scents to establish a stronger foothold in the competitive market.
The appointment of Kouchacji comes at a time when the Middle East fragrance market is thriving industry deeply rooted in the region’s rich cultural heritage and tradition of perfumery.
According to a report published by Research and Markets, it is forecasted to grow by USD 891.4 million between 2023 and 2028, with a CAGR of 4.8%.
The market is driven by factors such as personal grooming trends, celebrity endorsements, and product innovations.
Recently, Takasago nominated Émilie Bouge as its new Senior Perfumer at its Paris office, effective April 2025.
In her new position at Takasago, Bouge is expected to leverage her expertise to contribute to the company’s innovative fragrance development.
She has worked internationally, including setting up an Indonesian laboratory during her tenure at Charabot, which was later acquired by Robertet.
Her collaborations with prestigious brands such as Creed, Acqua di Parma, Trudon, and Xerjoff have earned her recognition for her creations.
Meanwhile, the company launched its new Takasago India Taste Innovation Centre (TITIC) to meet its consumers’ growing demand.
Based in Bengaluru, India, the new facility represents a significant milestone in the company’s continued commitment to the Indian market and demonstrates strong determination to drive innovation and excellence.
TITIC will serve as a key platform to foster deep partnerships with valued customers, act as a hub for flavour and taste innovation that aligns with market expectations, and expand the company’s market reach in this dynamic region.
The Centre will also play an essential role in accelerating the growth trajectory and enhancing its competitive edge in the growing market.
