SWITZERLAND – Givaudan has unveiled ChériScentz, an innovative fragrance design tool aimed at enhancing sensuality in perfumery.
This latest advancement aligns with the company’s ongoing commitment to neuroscience-driven scent technologies, complementing its existing portfolio, which includes MoodScentz+, VivaScentz, and DreamScentz.
Developed in Brazil, ChériScentz leverages G-Evocations, a specialized method that evaluates fragrance sensuality through visual stimuli.
This patent-pending algorithm is the result of extensive research conducted by Givaudan’s Health and Wellbeing Centre of Excellence, ensuring high discrimination, quality results, and consumer relevance across diverse markets.
The concept of sensuality, defined as the ability to experience pleasure and connection through the senses, is central to this innovation.
Givaudan’s internal data underscores the significance of scent in fostering emotional bonds, with 95% of Brazilian women associating perfume with sensuality and 72% of French and American consumers indicating that fragrance can evoke intimacy, such as the desire to touch or kiss.
Jeremy Compton, Global Head of Science and Technology Fragrances at Givaudan, stated, “Givaudan’s Health and Wellbeing Centre of Excellence has played a crucial role in developing this patent-pending algorithm.”
“This innovative tool, which was conceived in Brazil, harnesses advanced research derived from global consumer studies and is evaluated using G-Evocations, a specialised method that assesses fragrance sensuality through visual stimuli.”
He added, “This approach guarantees high discrimination, quality results, and consumer relevance across diverse markets.”
According to the company, ChériScentz is designed to meet evolving consumer preferences for scents that reflect authenticity, inclusivity, and emotional connection.
Beyond fine fragrances, the technology extends to bath, body, laundry, and home care products, broadening its impact across multiple categories.
Recently, Givaudan launched Myromi, a new handheld device that is designed to transform how aromas are developed and tested.
This patent-pending, innovative technology is controlled using a smartphone.
Myromi supports up to eight flavour channels, enabling users to create customized aroma combinations in real time.
In addition, the device is a lightweight, portable, and cost-effective device that allows real-time aroma blending and adjustments, enabling instant customer feedback and valuable brand engagement.
These innovations reflect Givaudan’s commitment to enhancing consumer experiences and staying at the forefront of flavour and fragrance technology.
