GERMANY – Symrise has introduced Neo Heliopan 310, a new organic UVB filter that offers high sun protection and blends well with a wide range of cosmetic formulations.
This product is marketed as a photostable solution suitable for use in sunscreens, daily moisturizers, anti-ageing serums, and emulsions.
According to Symrise, Neo Heliopan 310 supports the development of high SPF levels across various applications, including sunscreens, anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle products, serums, and lotions.
Julio Bombonati, Global Category Director Sun Protection at Symrise, stated, “At Symrise Cosmetic Ingredients, we strive to continuously enhance our UV filter portfolio with solutions like Neo Heliopan® 310.”
“Our product is giving answers to regulatory requirements known from traditional UV filters, and it also provides strong UV protection and photoaging prevention.”
One of its ingredients, diethylhexyl butamido triazone, exhibits a high absorption peak at 310 nm and is approved for use at concentrations of up to 10% across major markets, including the EU, China, Southeast Asia, and Mercosur.
The launch follows Symrise’s recent win of the Embrace Natura Award in the Commitment to Life category, which recognizes its leadership in sustainable innovation with the cosmetic ingredient Hydrolite 5 green.
The award, presented in the presence of João Paulo Ferreira, CEO of Natura, underscores Symrise’s dedication to advancing green chemistry and responsible sourcing.
The recognition strengthens Symrise’s position as a leader in sustainable cosmetics, reinforcing its Gold status in the Regenerative Alliance Program.
According to Symrise, Hydrolite 5 green is derived from three certified natural byproducts, including sugarcane bagasse, corncobs, and wood pulp, through an innovative upcycling process.
The ingredient is created through a patented, solvent-free process, effectively cutting its carbon footprint and preventing more than 202 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
