This marks both a celebration of its heritage and a bold step into the future of fragrance design.
FRANCE – Parfex, part of Croda’s Fragrances and Flavours division, has opened a Creation Centre in Grasse, France, to coincide with its 40th anniversary.
This marks both a celebration of its heritage and a bold step into the future of fragrance design.
This new facility consolidates all departments into a single 2,550-square-meter hub, designed to enhance creativity, efficiency, and sustainability.
The building includes advanced insulation, energy-efficient ventilation that cuts lab energy use by 95%, and façades that adapt to the Mediterranean climate.
Solar panels, set to go live later this year, will boost the site’s energy autonomy. Despite its size, the centre consumes three times less energy per square meter than its predecessor, underscoring Parfex’s commitment to sustainable innovation.
Cristian Galucci, Managing Director of Parfex, stated, “This new Creation Centre is a strategic step forward.”
“It allows us to work more efficiently, attract talent, and support our customers with greater agility, all while staying true to our values of creativity and responsibility.”
Among the facility’s highlights is a neuroscience testing booth equipped with Iberchem’s Wavemotion® technology, allowing in-house evaluation of the emotional impact of fragrances.
This scientific capability bridges sensorial art with data-driven insights, enabling perfumers to craft scents that resonate more deeply with consumers.
In addition, the building includes 800m² of laboratory space and 1,750m² of offices.
According to Parfex, there are plans already underway to triple the size of the production site by 2027, reinforcing the brand’s ambition to double revenues every five years and solidify its role as a leader in fragrance innovation.
This milestone signals Parfex’s vision to lead the next era of scent creation through sustainability, science, and sensorial storytelling.
In a similar move, Eurofragrance recently announced a €10 million (USD 11.4 million) investment to expand its manufacturing plant in Rubí, Barcelona, reinforcing its commitment to technological innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
The company’s expansion, featuring new facilities and advanced dosing robots, will triple its production capacity, enabling it to meet the rising demand across Europe, Africa, Turkey, and the Middle East.
The investment enhances manufacturing capabilities beyond fine perfumery, supporting personal care and home care categories that require higher production volumes.
