Kao expands portfolio with new advanced skincare innovations

These launches align with Kao’s broader ambition under its Global Sharp Top initiative.

JAPAN – Kao Corporation, a Japanese-based chemical and cosmetics company, has expanded its advanced skincare portfolio with several innovative product launches across its core premium and specialized brands, reinforcing its Global Sharp Top growth strategy.

Most notably, Kao’s prestige brand KANEBO is set to release two new signature products, which are KANEBO CREAM IN DAY II and KANEBO CREAM IN NIGHT II, scheduled for international rollout starting September 5, 2025.

These creams are inspired by vernix caseosa, the natural protective substance on newborn skin, and leverage newly developed biomimetic ingredients to deliver enhanced hydration and skin barrier support.

Simultaneously, Sensai is introducing its flagship TOTAL FORM EXPERT CREAM on September 1, 2025, in over 40 countries, including established and emerging markets.

This cream uses advanced anti-ageing technology, including the signature Koishimaru Silk EX and the new Total Form CPX complex, to deeply hydrate the skin and support firmness, elasticity, and facial contouring.

In addition, it features Plumping Veil Formula, which provides a soft, elastic film that sculpts the face and neck, aligning with growing consumer demand for products that visibly enhance facial definition worldwide.

Meanwhile, Kao’s leading sensitive-skin brand Curél is introducing two innovative skincare items using a unique carbonated foam technology combined with its proprietary Ceramide Care.

The Curél Intensive Moisture Care Carbonated Foam Serum and Gel Cleanser target dry, sensitive skin by intensely moisturizing and addressing dullness linked to dryness.

These products will debut in Japan on September 6,  2025 and roll out across Europe and Asia.

Key ingredients include eucalyptus extract and dipotassium glycyrrhizate to soothe and strengthen the skin barrier.

Beyond these, Curél previously launched a pioneering “second skin” hydration system using ultra-thin veils applied via a special diffuser, showcasing Kao’s cutting-edge Fine Fibre Technology.

This approach provides intensive moisture care by creating a breathable, hydrated film on the skin, further expanding Kao’s advanced skincare innovation.

These launches align with Kao’s broader ambition under its Global Sharp Top initiative, where skincare, especially advanced and skin protection categories, is a focal pillar for global growth and sustainability.
