CHINA – JOY GROUP, a leading multi-brand beauty company based in Shanghai, has completed the acquisition of the Italian dermatological hair care brand Foltène, significantly enhancing its presence in the hair and scalp care market.
Foltène is known for its strong scientific heritage and pioneering active complexes Tricosaccaride® and Tricalgoxyl®, which are clinically proven to promote thicker, fuller, and healthier-looking hair.
The brand’s product portfolio includes anti-hair loss ampoules, gender-specific anti-hair loss shampoos, eyebrow and eyelash serums, and nail repair essences, all backed by rigorous scientific research and global recognition.
The acquisition involves a full global takeover of Foltène’s brand business, including its brand assets, worldwide distribution network, supply chain system, and research laboratory based in Italy.

With Foltène integrated into its portfolio, JOY GROUP is poised to leverage synergies with existing brands such as JUDYDOLL, JOOCYEE, and the Chinese operations of René Furterer.
The acquisition complements JOY GROUP’s previous success in the scalp care category, as evidenced by the rapid growth of René Furterer under its management, and underscores its commitment to bringing advanced dermatological care to worldwide consumers.
This move comes after Joy Group recently acquired Biophyto Genesis, a dermatological skincare brand founded in 2012 that focuses on safe and effective skincare solutions for sensitive and problematic skin.
Biophyto Genesis’s R&D and product development have been led by Professor Li Yuanhong, a dermatologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience, who remains Chief Product Officer to oversee ongoing innovation across formulation, clinical validation, and product launches.
This addition complements Joy Group’s portfolio, which includes brands like Judydoll and René Furterer (China operations), fortifying its position in the growing science-based beauty segment.
