Symrise Fine Fragrance appoints Nicolas Beaulieu as Vice-President Senior Perfumer

His arrival at Symrise consolidates the Paris creative hub as a key part of the company’s global strategy in luxury perfumery during a period of strong growth.

GERMANY – Symrise Fine Fragrance has announced the appointment of Nicolas Beaulieu as Vice-President Senior Perfumer, effective October 6, 2025.

Beaulieu, trained at the prestigious ISIPCA and the International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) Perfumery School, brings extensive global experience to Symrise, having worked in New York, Shanghai, and Paris.

He is expected to drive creativity and innovation for Symrise’s prestige perfumery offerings, contributing to the company’s growth strategy in the global fine fragrance market.

In addition, his appointment supports the strengthening of Symrise’s Paris creative hub as a core part of their global perfumery operations, fostering collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas to push the boundaries of fragrance innovation.

Before joining Symrise, he was Vice President Perfumer at IFF, where he focused on the luxury segment and contributed to notable fragrances such as Rabanne Invictus Legend, Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Le Parfum, and several flankers of La Vie Est Belle.

Nicolas Beaulieu describes himself as an “archaeologist of scent,” blending his interests in history, gastronomy, and wine to inspire his compositions, aiming to surprise and craft unexpected fragrance experiences.

Julianne Pruett, Global President of Symrise Fine Fragrance, emphasized that Beaulieu’s creative strength will be crucial in driving growth in prestige perfumery and setting new industry standards, making his appointment a powerful statement of Symrise’s ambition in the delicate fragrance space.

This move comes after Symrise AG recently appointed Michael Friede as a member of its Executive Board and President of the Scent & Care segment, effective immediately.

This strategic move strengthens the company’s leadership as it continues to drive innovation and growth in its key business areas.

He succeeds Dr. Jean-Yves Parisot, the company’s CEO, who has been overseeing the Scent & Care segment on an interim basis since Dr. Jörn Andreas stepped down from the role in September 2024.

Meanwhile, Symrise recently announced a strategic equity investment in Cellibre, a U.S.-based biotechnology company pioneering sustainable biomanufacturing, to accelerate the development of fermentation-derived flavor ingredients.

The collaboration will initially focus on the commercialization of next-generation flavor ingredients and taste-balancing solutions that address growing global demand for natural, responsibly produced food and beverage products.
