Boris Cambon-Lalanne succeeds Thijs Bakker.

BELGIUM – Azelis, the reference innovation service provider for speciality chemicals and food ingredients, has appointed Boris Cambon-Lalanne as Group CFO and member of the Board of Directors.

Boris brings over two decades of financial expertise in the chemical industry, with a proven record in multinational finance management and strategic leadership.

Recognised for building high-performing cross-cultural teams and driving sustainability initiatives, he has held several senior roles at Rhodia and, following its acquisition by Solvay in 2011, continued his career there, most recently as Capital Markets Director.

His passion for science, strategic mindset, and commitment to operational excellence – combined with a history of delivering transformational results – will be instrumental as Azelis enters its next phase of growth. In his new role, Boris will leverage Azelis’s strong financial and digital foundations to accelerate the Group’s strategic ambitions.

Anna Bertona, Azelis Group CEO, commented, “I’m excited to welcome Boris Cambon-Lalanne as our new Group CFO. Boris’s experience and track record in transformational finance will be valuable in the next phase of our journey.

Moreover, his mindset reflects the spirit of our organisation, and I am confident that he is an excellent fit for our leadership team and will be instrumental in shaping our next chapter.”

According to the company, Thijs leaves the finance organisation and the company in a strong position for continued growth.

With support from the entire Azelis Group, both Thijs and Boris are committed to a seamless transition, ensuring strong foundations for continued growth as Azelis moves into the next phase of its development.

Meanwhile, Azelis has acquired Azienda Chimica e Farmaceutica (‘ACEF’), an Italian distributor of speciality raw materials and ingredients for the cosmetic, nutraceutical, galenic and pharma industries.

This move is set to enable customers to access an expanded, integrated product lineup, enhanced technical solutions, and more profound expertise tailored to specific market needs.

This move strengthens Azelis’s presence in Italy and enhances its position in key market segments.

ACEF was established in 1940, and it operates three laboratories focused on technical support and quality control, alongside GMP-compliant facilities for pharmaceutical ingredients.
