The new D-Pak format also streamlines logistics and aligns with consumer preferences for environmentally friendly packaging.

NORWAY – Orkla Home & Personal Care (OPHC) has launched Jif-branded all-purpose and floor cleaners in Elopak D-Pak cartons, replacing traditional plastic bottles in Norway.
This move positions OPHC as a market leader in adopting sustainable packaging for home care products, following earlier success with cartons in the laundry segment.
The new packaging includes four Jif cleaning fluids: three all-surface cleaners from the Jif Allrent portfolio and the Jif Krystal Grønnsåpe floor and surface cleaner, which is made from pure wood oils and suitable for cleaning various types of wood surfaces, including hardwood, parquet, and laminate.
These products are now available in 750 mL and 1500 mL Elopak D-Pak cartons in supermarkets across Norway.
OPHC emphasizes that the shift to cartons helps reduce plastic consumption and offers a more sustainable, shelf-ready solution for retailers.
Iselin Hedenstad, senior brand manager at OPHC, stated, “At OPHC, we want to contribute to reducing plastic consumption, and the new carton is a great way to do just that.”
“We have taken the lead in offering cleaning products in cartons, as the first in the Norwegian market in this segment.”
Consumers have responded positively to the transition to cartons, with similar packaging changes in the laundry category proving successful. OPHC is leveraging these insights to optimize its Jif portfolio.
The adoption of Elopak D-Pak cartons also supports compliance with incoming waste management regulations, such as the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation and the UK’s EPR, further reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability.
Elopak’s D-Pak cartons, made with a blend of recycled and renewable polymers, are designed to lower the environmental impact compared to conventional plastic packaging.
The cartons are now being rolled out for multiple OPHC brands across the Nordics, signaling a broader industry shift toward sustainable solutions in home and personal care packaging.
Earlier this year, Elopak, in partnership with Orkla Home and Personal Care (OHPC) and Dow, unveiled a new line of D-Pak cartons featuring a blend of recycled (circular) polyethylene (PE) and bio-circular (renewable) polymers.
The launch aims to help brands meet the requirements of the European Union’s upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which will mandate the inclusion of recycled content in packaging by 2030.
