Carvansons expands African footprint with new launch in South Africa

The expansion strengthens local access to bespoke fragrance solutions and enhances competition in the regional perfumery market.

SOUTH AFRICA – Carvansons, a UK-based fragrance manufacturer and perfume creator, has launched a new subsidiary in South Africa to strengthen its footprint on the continent and meet rising demand for specialized fragrance services.

This move underscores the company’s strategy to provide customized scent solutions for businesses in the region.

Carvansons South Africa (Pty) Ltd will assist South African companies with fragrance selection, scent strategies, and customer experience enhancements through bespoke olfactory designs.

The division targets sectors like beauty, personal care, household products, cleaning, and automotive manufacturing, offering advice on trends, regulations, and client support.

Zaheer Ernest serves as Managing Director, leveraging his deep expertise in the fragrance industry and knowledge of the South African market to drive growth across central and southern Africa.

Zaheer stated, “Scent has the power to transform spaces and influence how customers connect with a brand.”

“I’m excited to work with South African businesses to help them discover fragrances that not only elevate their environments, but also create lasting emotional connections with their customers.”

Ethan Whowell, Carvansons’ Africa Coordinator, highlighted South Africa’s strategic importance, praising the local focus amid global operations.

This expansion aligns with Carvansons’ broader African commitment, fostering tighter partnerships, enhanced support, and nuanced regional insights.

As a global fragrance firm, Carvansons blends creativity, technical prowess, and market savvy to deliver sensory experiences for commercial settings across multiple regions.

The expansion comes at a time when the South African fragrance market is forecast to reach about USD 0.42 billion in revenue by 2026, with an annual growth rate of roughly 3.5%, according to a report by Statista.

The market in South Africa is driven by urbanization, rising disposable incomes, and aspirational consumption among younger, style-conscious consumers, with premiumization and sustainability trends adding momentum.

Carvansons develops fragrance oils and essential oils for fine perfumes, cosmetics, and body care.

In addition, they also supply home and air care scents, including room fragrances and air fresheners.

In addition, they create functional fragrances for household cleaning, detergents, fabric care, and personal care products like shampoos and soaps.

Meanwhile, the company operates a global sales network, supplying fragrance compounds to clients in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Their reach spans Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Americas, enabling them to serve diverse industries from fine perfumery and personal care to household and industrial products.
