SWITZERLAND – OnSkin, a globally recognized cosmetics scanning application, has unveiled its “Safe Choice” certification, a scientifically validated label designed to assure consumers of completely risk-free ingredients in beauty products. 

This tool addresses rising consumer demand for trustworthy clean-beauty verification, distinguishing it from broader scanners by focusing on universally low-risk profiles. 

The Safe Choice designation highlights cosmetics achieving a 95+ score on OnSkin’s unique 100-point safety metric, derived directly from complete ingredient disclosures provided by brands. 

Evaluations focus on risks relevant to the average user under normal application conditions.

Each component undergoes scrutiny in four critical categories: hormone disruption and fertility impacts, cancer-causing potential, irritation or sensitization hazards, and alerts for excessive concentrations. 

These factors combine to form a holistic safety rating that reflects cumulative threat levels.

Julia Kuprina, OnSkin’s Product Director, stated, “Use of cosmetics may involve several health-relevant uncertainties that shouldn’t be overlooked.”

“While toxicology depends on dose, factors such as frequency of use, coverage area, cumulative effect from multiple products, exposure routes, predisposing skin or health conditions, bioaccumulation potential of certain substances, and the need for some chemicals to meet strict purification and processing requirements may all influence real-world risks.”

Qualifying products feature a bold Safe Choice icon within the app’s analysis dashboard, with disclaimers on possible regional formulation differences.

Personalization options let users flag specific allergens, while professionals recommend skin patch testing to account for unique reactions.

The program draws on up-to-date research, regulatory databases, and insights from OnSkin’s in-house experts in medicine and science to deliver transparent, reliable guidance.
