Robertet invests in Aethera Biotech to scale health and beauty division

This builds on their existing partnership and supports Robertet’s “Augmented Naturality” strategy by incorporating plant-derived innovations.

ITALY – Robertet,  a French fragrance and flavour manufacturer, has made a strategic minority investment in Aethera Biotech, a subsidiary of the Italian family-owned group Cereal Docks specializing in cosmetics ingredients, enhancing its health and beauty portfolio through advanced biotechnology for cosmetic actives.

The two-phase investment, spanning three years and conditional on milestones, will establish Aethera as Robertet’s dedicated biotech division.

Robertet’s Chairman and CEO, Philippe Maubert, stated, “Entering the biotech arena via this investment in Aethera Biotech is a natural progression in our Augmented Naturality roadmap.”

“Merging our natural raw material prowess with Aethera’s cutting-edge biotech unlocks new frontiers for our Health & Beauty division, delivering stable, potent actives sourced from plants—regardless of environmental or supply challenges.”

This alliance strengthens Robertet’s biotech expertise by integrating Aethera’s skilled researchers and manufacturing platform into a new excellence hub serving the entire group.

It unlocks innovative topical cosmetic actives, expanding the Health & Beauty unit while securing climate-resilient natural supplies unaffected by agricultural or global disruptions.

Aethera Biotech’s CEO, Dr. Simone Bonetti, added: “Our alliance with Robertet, a natural ingredients titan, propels our vision forward.”

“This investment validates our sustainable cosmetic active platform and grants access to Robertet’s global reach, enabling faster innovation and market penetration for our biotech solutions.”

Robertet will distribute Aethera’s products worldwide through its extensive fragrance and flavour networks, fostering long-term revenue growth.

Aethera benefits from Robertet’s sales infrastructure and customer base, accelerating the adoption of its sustainable, high-performance ingredients in cosmetics.

Aethera Biotech offers plant-derived cosmetic active ingredients created through its proprietary CROP® biotechnology platform.

Their portfolio includes standardized phyto-complexes such as DauVes CROP®-G and MetropolePure CROP®-G, which are solvent-free, safe, and designed for use in skincare and personal care formulations.

These products emphasize sustainability, efficacy, and clean-label innovation for beauty brands.

On the other hand, Robertet specializes in natural raw materials and offers a wide portfolio across fragrances, flavours, and health & wellness.

Their products include essential oils, extracts, absolutes, resinoids, natural molecules, antioxidants, and spice blends, all sustainably sourced and tailored for perfumery, aromatherapy, food, and wellness applications.
