Symrise launches 100% plant-based Protection for Rinse-Off Formulations

This move aligns with the division’s holistic approach, blending cosmetic actives, biotics, and health solutions for inside-out benefits.

GERMANY – Symrise has introduced Mindera® Euca, expanding its innovative Mindera® platform to deliver fully plant-derived protection for rinse-off personal care products like shampoos and body washes.

This 100% plant-based ingredient, known as Piperitone (with INCI registration underway), enhances rinse-off formulas by improving foam density, volume, and texture, even in sulfate-free formulations, while ensuring reliable broad-spectrum antimicrobial defence across a wide pH range.

It creates a luxurious sensory profile that transforms routine cleansing into restorative wellness moments, meeting rising demands for natural, high-performing clean beauty options.

Building on the 2025 debut of the Mindera® toolbox for leave-on items like creams and serums, Euca now enables comprehensive protection across every personal care category using scientifically validated botanicals.

As the fifth addition to this patented lineup, it reinforces Symrise’s leadership in multifunctional, nature-sourced solutions that balance safety, efficacy, and premium user appeal.

Advika Juliet, Global Product Manager, Product Protection, stated, “Sensorial performance plays a key role, especially with consumers increasingly looking for restorative, wellness-led experiences in their personal care routines.”

“As people continue to seek natural, responsible solutions, Mindera® Euca can support rinse-off formulators to address these demands. Our innovative Mindera® technology offers customers natural, high-performing solutions, opening opportunities for brands in all product categories.”

Symrise launches 100% plant-derived exosome technology

In addition, Symrise has launched Cellexora™ MD, a groundbreaking 100% plant-derived cosmetic ingredient harnessing upcycled organic apple exosomes to promote advanced skin longevity and regeneration.

Cellexora™ MD features “true” extracellular vesicles sourced from Italian apple side streams, enabling cell-to-cell communication among keratinocytes, fibroblasts, and macrophages to tackle skin ageing at its root.
This water-soluble powder (INCI: Maltodextrin, Malus domestica fruit vesicles) offers high stability, reproducibility, and broad formulation compatibility under ISO 16128-2 natural-origin standards.

It joins Symrise’s Care & Wellness platform, emphasizing holistic skin health tied to longevity and microbiome balance.

Clinical studies show Cellexora™ MD boosts collagen production for improved firmness and elasticity, soothes skin for balance, and reduces wrinkle length, depth, and volume within 30 days.

Unlike lab-derived alternatives, its plant exosomes deliver multi-layer protection for sustained vitality beyond surface-level corrections.

Formulators can integrate it into premium anti-ageing skincare targeting resilience and healthspan.

Sourced via a traceable, clean process from upcycled apple byproducts, it minimizes waste while upholding transparency and eco-standards.
Symrise highlights this as a nature-powered innovation, developed with experts such as Prof. Barbara Zavan on extracellular vesicles.

According to the company, attendees at in-cosmetics Global 2026, taking place on April 14-16, Paris, can test the two products at Symrise’s Stand 3E10, where the company will highlight its Care & Wellness Division offerings.
