TURKEY – Turkish conglomerate Eczacıbaşı Holding has signed a definitive agreement to transfer its Sanipak tissue and hygiene unit to Arch Peninsula Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian subsidiary of a leading global pulp and paper producer, for an enterprise value of $600 million.
The deal, finalized on March 20, 2026, awaits approvals from Turkey’s Competition Authority and other relevant regulators before closing, with final payment adjusted for debt, cash, working capital, and post-closing items.
This transaction aligns with Eczacıbaşı’s dynamic portfolio management and sustainable growth strategy, generating key resources for future investments while positioning Sanipak’s brands for enhanced global expansion.
Eczacıbaşı Group CEO Burak Sevilengül stated, “This step will enable Sanipak brands, which originated in Türkiye, to expand even more strongly into world markets and reach millions of new households.”
“This agreement, which is a result of our active portfolio management approach, will also be an important driving force for our Group to evaluate new investment opportunities.”
Sanipak CEO Bülent Kozlu added that the combination with Arch Peninsula’s global production scale and vertical integration will create significant partnership , maintaining leadership in Turkey and Morocco.
Sanipak, established in 1969 as Turkey’s first branded tissue producer under the name Ipek Kağıt, leads the domestic cleaning paper market with brands like Selpak, Solo, Pandoo, and others across tissue, baby care, personal care, and professional segments.
It operates three plants in Turkey, two in Morocco, exports to over 60 countries, and employs more than 2,000 people, focusing on quality and sustainability.
Arch Peninsula Sdn Bhd functions as a global investment platform for tissue and hygiene products, targeting high-growth regions with market-leading brands in Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Europe, and North Africa.
As a subsidiary of one of the world’s largest integrated pulp and paper groups, it commits to responsible sourcing, supply chain traceability, and sustainable practices.
