Symrise breaks ground on USD 29M logistics hub in Holzminden

GERMANY – Symrise has officially launched the second phase of construction of its new logistics centre in Holzminden, representing an investment of €25 million (USD 29.01 million).
Through this substantial investment, the company is systematically expanding its logistics capacity, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and reinforcing the site as a central hub within its global logistics network to strengthen global delivery capabilities.
The groundbreaking ceremony serves as a visible symbol of growth, demonstrates the company’s investment in its headquarters, and underscores its unwavering commitment to operational excellence.
The second construction phase reinforces Symrise’s strategic direction with a clear focus on growth, future business success, and modern logistics solutions.
Jens Baedje, Managing Director of Symotion, stated, “With this logistics centre, we are creating an efficient hub for our flow of goods and taking our processes to a new level.”

This project is part of the Vision 2035 infrastructure program, through which Symrise is making targeted investments in the Holzminden site in the coming years, with completion of the second construction phase planned for March 2028.
The second construction phase will connect directly to the existing logistics building and strategically complement current infrastructure.
The company is planning a fully automated high-bay warehouse with approximately 10,000 shelf spaces measuring roughly 98 meters in length, 22 meters in width, and 24 meters in height, along with a two-story connecting building measuring approximately 52 meters in length.
The new centre will be operated by Symotion, Symrise’s wholly owned logistics service provider, enabling the company to increase capacity, optimize material and goods flows, and improve efficiency across its entire value chain.
The groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of a project that extends far beyond construction itself, and with the completion of the second construction phase planned for 2028, Symrise will create infrastructure in Holzminden that will strengthen the site for future requirements over the long term.
