Penta Fine Ingredients strengthens its leadership team with new appointments

The appointment signals a coordinated push to accelerate growth, deepen top-level industry expertise, and position Penta for further consolidation in its core markets.

USA – Keystone Capital Management–backed Penta Fine Ingredients has appointed Greg Robertson as Chief Executive Officer, marking a key leadership transition as the company moves into its next growth phase.

Robertson, who joined Penta as president in June 2026, will now lead the company’s customer engagement, business development, portfolio expansion and strategic acquisitions across the flavors, fragrance and pharmaceutical ingredients markets.

He succeeds Mike Size, who has served as CEO since Keystone’s 2025 partnership with Penta and will remain on the board of directors to support the scale-up effort.

In comments on the appointment, Robertson said it is an “honor” to lead Penta and that he looks forward to working with customers, suppliers and employees to drive the company’s growth, while Size described him as “the right leader to take the Company forward.”

In a parallel move to strengthen governance and strategic capacity, Penta has announced that Don Thorp has joined its board of directors.

Thorp brings more than four decades of leadership experience in the global ingredients market, most recently serving as president and CEO of Prinova, a global supplier of functional ingredients, flavors and nutrient premixes, until his retirement in March 2025.

Having led Prinova since 1995 and continued to guide the business after its 2019 acquisition by the NAGASE Group, he transformed the company from a U.S. ingredient distributor into one of the world’s largest ingredient suppliers, growing annual sales to more than USD 1.45 billion with operations across North America, Europe and Asia.

In his new board role, Thorp will work closely with Penta’s leadership team on operational and strategic initiatives and support the evaluation of acquisition opportunities, aligning with Penta’s stated focus on further deals in specialty chemical distribution and manufacturing.

Thorp said Penta has “built a remarkable platform with a talented team and a deep customer base” and that he is excited to work with the Penta and Keystone teams to help scale the business, while DeLong noted that Thorp’s track record in the ingredients industry will be “invaluable” as the company pursues growth and value creation.

Headquartered in West Caldwell, New Jersey, and operating from a 113,000-square-foot facility, Penta is a longstanding supplier of specialty chemicals and intermediate ingredients to the flavors, fragrance and pharmaceutical markets, serving a global customer base of manufacturers and distributors.
