Silab strengthens its board with appointment of Paul Eguia as General Manager

FRANCE – Silab, a French-based company that develops natural active ingredients for the global cosmetics and skincare market,  has announced the appointment of Paul Eguia as General Manager overseeing economic intelligence, and adding him to its management board.

Eguia, the grandson of Silab’s founder, Jean Paufique, previously managed the company’s natural raw materials platform.

He will serve alongside CEO Brigitte Closs-Gonthier and other board members, including Jean-Philippe Cosson, Florence Giner-Meilhac, and Dominique Muller.

The supervisory board made this appointment to honour the family continuity that has been a cornerstone of the company since its inception.

CEO Closs-Gonthier emphasized that maintaining continuity is vital for strategic decision-making and for embodying Silab’s core values.

She praised the appointment by stating, “The fact that Paul Eguia is joining the management board is proof of this: this appointment maintains the link between shareholders and the company and strengthens the stability of our organisation in the medium and long term.”

Eguia expressed pride in carrying forward the legacy of his grandfather, who crafted Silab into a respected market leader built on independence and strong values.

He stated his honour in joining the management board to continue the company’s successful journey and uphold its distinct identity.

Established in 1984, Silab remains fully family-owned and transitioned in 2003 to a limited company structure with management and supervisory boards.

Meanwhile, Silab, a French-based company that develops natural active ingredients for the global cosmetics and skincare market,  has introduced NEOLIPYL®, a new active ingredient derived from cornflowers.

This ingredient is designed to repair dry and damaged skin by restoring the skin’s lipid matrix integrity.

According to Silab, NEOLIPYL® targets the structural and compositional imbalances in the lipid barrier that compromise the skin’s ability to retain moisture and defend against external aggressors.

The ingredient works by re-equilibrating the lipid matrix, boosting the synthesis of epidermal lipids and optimizing their organization.

Silab conducted an in-house study utilising advanced omics technologies, including lipidomics and optical biopsies, to develop a dry skin model.

Clinical studies on both Caucasian and Asian skin types demonstrated visible improvements in hydration, comfort, and skin smoothness within 14 days of twice-daily application.

NEOLIPYL has shown efficacy comparable to that of niacinamide, a benchmark ingredient in skin barrier repair.

In addition, this ingredient enhances the tolerability of retinol, a widely used but often irritating anti-ageing compound.
