Bath & Body Works unveils Essentials range for sensitive skin

The line debuts on September 28 in stores and online across the U.S. and Canada, with select items also available on Amazon.

USA – Bath & Body Works has introduced Essentials, a new body care franchise designed for sensitive skin that combines hypoallergenic formulas with soft, close-to-skin fragrances.

It features two core formulas, Skin Replenishing Body Wash and Ultra Hydrating Body Lotion, plus an Eau de Parfum developed to a hypoallergenic standard.

The franchise launches with three new scents, each crafted to a hypoallergenic standard and offered across all three product forms so customers can wash, moisturize, and finish with perfume in the same fragrance family.

Vanilla Silk blends vanilla, praline, and sandalwood; Cashmere Amber combines amber, mandarin, and musk; and Suede Blossoms features jasmine, bergamot, and tonka.

According to the company, every Essentials item is dermatologist-approved, made for sensitive skin, and hypoallergenic.

The pH-balanced Skin Replenishing Body Wash contains glycerin, while the Ultra Hydrating Body Lotion uses hyaluronic acid, shea butter, and cocoa butter for dry skin.

The Eau de Parfum provides a soft fragrance experience intended to stay close to the skin rather than project heavily.

Kristie Lewis, executive vice president of merchandising at Bath & Body Works, said, “Essentials was created to provide gentle care for consumers with sensitive skin.”

“Essentials is another example of our Consumer First Formula in action, delivering the gentle care consumers want from their daily routines, from the formulas themselves to packaging designed to feel calm, modern and elevated.”

Inspired by the soothing atmosphere of a spa, the packaging draws on natural stone and marble aesthetics with subtle color variations to create a clean, calming, and premium look and feel for everyday body care.

To help shoppers understand the ingredients and how to build a body care routine for sensitive skin, Bath & Body Works is partnering with board-certified dermatologist Dr. Michelle Henry.

Dr. Henry noted that people with sensitive skin often seek products that support hydration and fit easily into daily routines, and she highlighted that the new franchise uses familiar, well-tolerated ingredients such as glycerin, hyaluronic acid, shea butter, and cocoa butter in formulas developed and tested specifically for sensitive skin.
