Jojoba Desert secures 2026 Fair for Life certification

Jojoba Desert exemplifies how desert farming can drive positive global change, as demand for responsible beauty ingredients grows.

ISRAEL – Jojoba Desert, a leading producer of jojoba oil based in Israel’s Negev Desert, has earned the prestigious Fair for Life (FFL) Certification, underscoring its unwavering commitment to ethical practices and sustainability in the beauty ingredients supply chain.

The Fair for Life program, administered by a Paris-based group, validates Jojoba Desert’s excellence in areas like worker safety, community support, wildlife conservation, and ecosystem preservation.

This recognition confirms full traceability of certified products from cultivation in Kibbutz Hatzerim to global distribution, ensuring partners receive ethically sourced materials with minimal environmental impact.

Company leaders emphasise that these standards reflect daily operations rooted in respect for human rights, fair labour, and biodiversity-promoting agriculture.

Operating pesticide-free, using reduced herbicides, and achieving low carbon emissions and efficient resource use, Jojoba Desert nurtures jojoba plantations while protecting the fragile Negev ecosystem.

Merav Hadary, QA and sustainable development manager, stated, “Maintaining Fair for Life certification for six consecutive years reflects how we operate day to day.”

“For our customers, it means working with a partner that reduces risk, supports credible sustainability claims and continues to improve over time.”

The certification, now renewed multiple times, including for 2025 and 2026, positions the firm as a reliable supplier for cosmetics firms seeking verified sustainability claims.

This achievement aligns Jojoba Desert with UN sustainable development goals, supporting social projects and reinforcing its role in transparent fair trade.

CEOs like Roni Rot and Lee Reuveni highlight ethical sourcing as core to their mission, making high-quality jojoba oil ideal for skincare and haircare applications.

Meanwhile, late last year, Jojoba Desert earned the prestigious Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, a globally recognized sustainability ratings platform.

This accolade ranks Jojoba Desert among the top 1% of companies worldwide evaluated for sustainability, underscoring its leadership in sustainable cosmetic ingredient production.

The Platinum Medal reflects the company’s strong performance in environmental responsibility, labor and human rights, and ethics, highlighting its commitments to renewable energy use, biodiversity preservation, waste reduction, and ethical supply chain management.
