UK -Wype, a UK wellness brand, has introduced an innovative gel formulation that transforms traditional toilet paper into wet wipes, providing a sustainable alternative to conventional wet wipes.
The product aims to address environmental concerns associated with single-use plastics and wet-wipe waste.
The formula is made using organic aloe vera and chamomile to soothe the skin and help reduce irritation, glycerin for hydration, a coconut sugar derivative, a mild cleanser, and Vitamin E, which provides a powerful antioxidant that helps keep skin healthy.
The formula contains organic aloe vera and chamomile to soothe the skin, glycerin for hydration, a coconut sugar derivative as a mild cleanser, and Vitamin E, which supports skin health.
According to Wype, the gel sits on the tissue without soaking through, ensuring a gentle yet effective cleanse while minimizing waste.
Wype is setting a new standard in sustainable hygiene with its COSMOS-certified organic formulation and commitment to eco-conscious packaging.
The product comes in a recyclable aluminium bottle with a patented reusable applicator, ensuring consumers use the right amount for each application.
Each 100ml Wype bottle replaces approximately 250 wet wipes, reducing single-use plastic waste.
A 2024 study by Wype revealed that 76% of individuals acknowledge the environmental harm caused by so-called “flushable” toilet wipes, while 51% express dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of traditional toilet paper.
In addition, 97.5% of Wype users reported both physical and mental satisfaction after using the product.
The wellness brand has also experienced significant market success, reporting 173% business growth in the past year, reflecting a rising demand for sustainable personal care solutions.
The launch of Wype’s product comes at a time when UK nations are banning the sale and supply of wet wipes containing plastic.
Recently, Wales officially notified the World Trade Organization of its intention to ban wet wipes containing plastic, aligning with a broader UK-wide initiative that began in late 2024.
This regulation is part of an amendment to the Environmental Protection Act 2023, aimed at harmonizing environmental policies across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.
The initiative seeks to combat plastic pollution, particularly in waterways, and reduce the impact of microplastics.
By joining this movement, Wales reinforces its commitment to sustainability and aligns with the UK’s broader strategy to phase out single-use plastics.
