UGANDA – Reckitt, the leading hygiene and health innovation has partnered with technology firm Chil Group has announced a new partnership focused on Ugandan schools that aims to empower young children, teachers, and families with practical knowledge about hygiene and how to sustain it.
According to Chil Group, the partnership will focus on the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at transforming hygiene in schools through better hygiene facilities and impactful education. It will focus on children between 5-8 years old.
“Reckitt has been a game-changer for us. Their support in 2023 gave a big boost to our telemedicine projects. Now, this renewed commitment with the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program allows us to tackle a key challenge related to hygiene education for school aged children. Together, we will educate, empower and inspire school children, instilling healthy hygiene habits,” commented Dr. Shamim Nabuuma, Founder of Chil Group.
According to Dr. Nabuuma, phase one of the program will reach 1,500 schools across Uganda, setting the stage for even bigger efforts across Sub-Saharan Africa and ensuring long-lasting results for schools, communities and children.
Long-term partnership
Chil Group’s collaboration with Reckitt began in 2023 when Reckitt through its WINFUND program, which it co- founded with Health Innovation Exchange, invested in the telemedicine company.
This has grown even stronger with a shared goal to improve health and hygiene for school children across Africa.
Reckitt is the producer of global brands such as Dettol, Harpic and JIK and many others.
Dr. Nabuuma reiterates that the partnership blends Chil Group’s innovative approach with Reckitt’s deep experience in health and hygiene education. By working together, both organizations are committed to creating real, lasting change in Uganda and beyond, he adds.
