Samsung launches AI-powered bespoke washer & dryer range with smart energy management features

New connected laundry appliances combine AI-driven fabric care, voice control and energy-saving technologies to enhance household efficiency.

SOUTH KOREA – Samsung Electronics has unveiled its latest Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer lineup, expanding its portfolio of smart home appliances with advanced artificial intelligence capabilities designed to improve fabric care, optimize energy consumption and deliver a more connected user experience.

The new range reflects growing consumer demand for intelligent household appliances that simplify daily tasks while helping households manage energy costs and improve efficiency.

According to Samsung, the new laundry appliances integrate enhanced AI-powered washing and drying technologies, a touchscreen Smart Screen interface and seamless connectivity through the SmartThings ecosystem.

“As consumers increasingly seek appliances that adapt intelligently to their daily routines, Samsung continues to expand the role of AI across the home,” said Hyoung Min Park, Vice President and Head of the Customer Experience Team for Samsung Electronics’ Digital Appliances Business.

“In this respect, the new Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer lineup delivers a more personalized and convenient laundry experience.”

The washer features Samsung’s upgraded AI Wash+ technology, which can recognize additional fabric types, including denim and outdoor garments.

Using multiple sensors, the system identifies load weight and fabric composition, automatically adjusting water levels, detergent dosage and wash duration while continuously monitoring soil levels throughout the cycle.

The dryer incorporates AI Dry+, which analyzes moisture content, drying temperature and fabric type to optimize performance.

Samsung says the technology can reduce drying time and energy consumption by up to 20% by intelligently controlling the inverter compressor and heat exchanger according to the specific characteristics of each load.

A central feature of the new lineup is the 7-inch Smart Screen, which acts as a control hub for laundry operations.

The touchscreen interface learns user habits, recommends preferred wash cycles and provides access to detailed laundry reports through the SmartThings application, including water and energy consumption insights.

Samsung has also enhanced the system with an upgraded version of its Bixby voice assistant, enabling users to control laundry functions through natural voice commands.

Consumers can start wash cycles, request additional rinsing, check remaining cycle times and receive spoken explanations of on-screen information without physically interacting with the appliance.

The new range further supports Samsung’s broader connected home strategy through integration with SmartThings Energy.

The platform allows users to track electricity consumption and estimated utility costs while activating AI Energy Mode, which can reduce washer energy consumption by up to 70% on compatible cycles through the use of lower-temperature washing and optimized cycle management.

The dryer’s AI Energy Mode can lower energy use by up to 20%, according to the company.

The launch highlights the growing role of artificial intelligence in the home appliance sector, where manufacturers are increasingly leveraging smart technologies to improve performance, sustainability and user convenience.

Industry analysts expect demand for connected appliances to continue growing as consumers seek greater automation, predictive maintenance capabilities and more efficient energy management solutions.

Samsung said the new Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer lineup will be rolled out globally beginning in July 2026, with availability varying by market.

The washer will be offered in capacities ranging from 9kg to 11kg, while the matching dryer will be available in a 9kg configuration.
