CODB acquires Bread Beauty Supply to expand growth and innovations in textured hair care

The acquisition will also facilitate Bread’s expansion into more Sephora USA locations this year and a full rollout to all Ulta Beauty stores in April.

USA – Cost of Doing Business(CODB), an American holding company founded by Olamide Olowe and Sochi Mbadugha, has acquired the textured hair care brand Bread Beauty Supply.

The acquisition will help expand Bread’s retail presence and support its growth, while ensuring the brand upholds its creative vision and dedication to textured hair care.

This move marks the first step in CODB’s strategy to develop and grow brands that blend culture, community, and commerce, aiming to redefine the future of consumer products.

Maeva Heim, Bread’s founder, will retain her position as Chief Creative Officer, ensuring that the brand’s creative direction and product innovation remain at the forefront.

Olamide Olowe, CODB’s CEO, and Sochi Mbadugha, its President, will serve as strategic advisors, while a new leadership team will oversee the brand’s daily operations and management.

Olamide Olowe, co-founder of CODB, stated, “Maeva Heim, Bread’s founder, is one of the most talented creatives in the space and has led Bread to have a major impact in the hair care industry.”

“With CODB’s resources and expertise, we’re ensuring it continues to grow while remaining deeply rooted in its mission and creative ethos.”

CODB is committed to championing cultural consumers, demonstrating that prioritizing inclusivity and innovation is an ethical stance and a critical business strategy.

This comes at a time when many companies are reducing their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts.

CODB is set to provide subsidies for marketing expenses to support small businesses, boosting their visibility and market share through collaborations with cultural agencies and partners.

Under CODB’s ownership, Bread Beauty Supply is set for long-term growth while maintaining its innovative approach and focus on textured hair care.

Bread Beauty Supply is known for its high-quality products designed for textured and curly hair.

The brand’s product range includes shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, and masks, all formulated with ingredient-driven formulas tailored for diverse hair types.

Operating independently from Topicals, CODB focuses on creating opportunities for creative entrepreneurs, with a mission that stands out in today’s landscape, where many organisations are reducing their DEI efforts.

CODB aims to set a new standard for consumer products by supporting brands that prioritize inclusivity and innovation.
