The INNATE TF 220 advanced-performance packaging resin is a groundbreaking innovation in design for recyclability.
USA – Dow, a leading chemical producer for the pulp and paper market, has launched INNATE TF 220 precision packaging resin, a solution that enhances performance, global compliance, and cost efficiency.
The INNATE TF 220 advanced-performance packaging resin is a groundbreaking innovation in design for recyclability.
Dow’s INNATE TF 220 resin, a high-density polyethene (HDPE) innovation, is a game changer in the world of flexible packaging sustainability. Its unique features redefine the potential of flexible packaging, making it a standout in the industry.
This innovation represents significant progress in developing recyclable, high-performance biaxially oriented polyethylene (BOPE) films, tackling key sustainability issues within the flexible packaging industry.
Its key benefits include compatibility with existing BOPP lines, improved stiffness and heat resistance for efficient processing, and excellent optical clarity for high-quality packaging.
Dow Packaging & Speciality Plastics APAC commercial vice-president Bambang Candra remarked, “Asia Pacific is where material science meets circular ambition. Through breakthrough innovations like INNATE TF 220 resin, redefining the design for recyclable packaging performance, and strategic partnerships across the value chain, we are accelerating the shift toward packaging circularity.
“This is sustainability in action, helping enable brands to balance performance benefits while scaling mono-material solutions and post-consumer recycled [PCR] adoption. It’s how Dow turns vision into measurable progress, advancing both our partners’ goals and the circular economy.”
Dow partnered with Liby to integrate 10% REVOLOOP post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin into the packaging of Liby’s ‘Floral Era’ detergent line.
“As a leading laundry brand in China, Liby is committed to reconsidering plastic packaging and ensuring its circularity,” said Liby Research and Development Centre general manager Zhang Liping.
“Our strategic partnership with Dow has led to innovations such as China’s first fully recyclable laundry packaging with Dow’s INNATE TF-BOPE and the new generation ‘Floral Era’ detergent series using Dow’s post-consumer recycled resins.”
He added, “This long-term collaboration enhances the sustainable value of our products and shows our commitment to environmental stewardship and innovation.”
This initiative not only aims to cut carbon emissions but also to maintain the durability of the packaging.
According to Dow, INNATE TF 220 resin’s unique molecular architecture offers improved processing efficiency, reducing waste during manufacturing.
The resin’s enhancement of stiffness and thermal resistance is not only beneficial for downstream operations, such as printing and lamination, but also for improving the visual appeal of mono-material packaging structures, making it a comprehensive solution for the packaging process.
By facilitating mono-material structures that streamline recycling, this resin represents more than just a technical breakthrough; it catalyzes ESG-focused investment in an era when circularity is essential.
TF-BOPE films are versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications, including packaging for food and beverages as well as home and personal care products.
According to the company, converters and brand owners are embracing TF-BOPE films to comply with recycling regulations and ensure their product lines are prepared for the future.
