Beiersdorf names Pierre Kröning as new Chief Information Officer

Kröning’s appointment signals Beiersdorf’s continued commitment to digital innovation as a core pillar of its growth and operational strategy.

GERMANY – Beiersdorf has nominated Pierre Kröning as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Managing Director of Beiersdorf IT, effective September 1, 2025.

Kröning, a 20-year veteran of the company, succeeds Annette Hamann, who departed after many years of service.

In his new role, he will report directly to Beiersdorf’s Chief Financial Officer, Astrid Hermann.

As CIO, Kröning aims to make IT a strategic partner deeply embedded in the company’s processes, fostering innovation, efficiency, and growth.

Astrid Hermann, CFO at Beiersdorf, stated, “Pierre knows our company very well and has made a decisive contribution to the strategic development of our IT organization in recent years.”

“With his expertise, his entrepreneurial thinking, and his passion for digital innovations, he is the ideal candidate for this key role.”

Kröning brings extensive experience from across Beiersdorf’s IT, finance, and strategy sectors.

Since 2020, he has been part of Beiersdorf Shared Services (BSS), most recently leading the Data & Analytics, Finance & HR Applications division.

There, he played a pivotal role in advancing Beiersdorf’s digital transformation, including the launch of a comprehensive group-wide data and analytics platform and the expansion of data-driven decision-making.

As CIO, Kröning emphasized his vision to position IT as a strategic co-creator in Beiersdorf’s development processes.

He stated that modern IT should drive innovation, efficiency, and growth, with technology deeply integrated into the company’s value chain to benefit its brands, partners, and consumers.

Beiersdorf IT, serving as the “Home of Tech, Data & Digitalization,” operates globally with over 400 experts, focusing on IT strategy, digital innovation, automation, consumer experience, and security.

Beiersdorf H1 FY25 financial highlight

Beiersdorf recently reported €5.2 billion (USD 6.03 billion) in sales for the first half of 2025, reflecting a modest 2.1% organic growth compared to the previous year, but a marked slowdown from the 7.1% organic growth seen in H1 2024.

This slower market growth, particularly evident in the global skin care sector, led the company to adjust its full-year guidance to expect around 3% organic sales growth, down from an earlier forecast of 4%-6%.

The operating result (EBIT), excluding special factors, was €836 million (USD 971.68 million), slightly below the prior year’s €838 million(USD 974 million), with a marginal decline in EBIT margin from 16.2% to 16.1%.

Profit after tax declined to €561 million (USD 651.94 million) from €590 million (USD 682.11 million) in H1 2024.
