Gayatrishakti Tissue Mill sets new benchmark with record 2,504 MT monthly output

The record has been achieved just 10 months after the installation of Toscotec’s art high-speed Crescent Former Tissue Machine.

INDIA – Gayatrishakti Tissue Mill, based in Vapi, Gujarat, has achieved a historic milestone by recording its highest-ever monthly production of 2,504 metric tonnes (MT) of tissue paper in August 2025.

What makes the achievement stand out is that it comes just ten months after the start-up of its new tissue machine, underscoring the company’s rapid scale-up and operational efficiency.

The August performance set new records across all parameters. The mill produced 2,504 MT of tissue paper, transferred 2,332.3 MT to its warehouse, and dispatched 2,308 MT to customers, all marking all-time highs for the company.

The milestone was made possible by the installation of a state-of-the-art high-speed Crescent Former Tissue Machine supplied by Toscotec of Italy.

With a designed speed of up to 1,800 meters per minute, the machine has enabled Gayatrishakti to consistently deliver high-quality output while meeting the rising demand for premium tissue products in India.

“Achieving this milestone within such a short time frame reflects the dedication of our operations, production, and support teams, as well as the vision of our leadership,” the company said in a statement.

The record output is not just a company success but also a reflection of the growing momentum in India’s tissue paper industry.

Traditionally, India’s tissue consumption has lagged behind global averages, with per capita use estimated at under 1 kg compared to more than 20 kg in developed markets.

However, rising urbanization, improved hygiene awareness post-COVID-19, and the expansion of modern retail and hospitality sectors are driving strong growth.

Gayatrishakti’s achievement signals that Indian producers are now investing in world-class technology to scale up faster and meet this demand.

High-speed, energy-efficient machines, such as Toscotec’s Crescent Former, are enabling domestic mills to bridge the gap between local supply and growing demand, thereby reducing their reliance on imports.

Industry analysts note that sustained output at this level will not only strengthen Gayatrishakti’s market position but also contribute to stabilizing tissue prices in India, which have faced volatility due to fluctuating pulp costs and supply-demand imbalances.

Moreover, it sets a benchmark for other Indian players looking to compete in both domestic and export markets.

As India’s tissue industry moves into a new growth phase, milestones like this underline the sector’s potential to become more self-reliant and globally competitive.
