BioVivo Science to open USD 70M botanical extraction and processing facility in Indiana

The site will support industries ranging from personal care and food and beverage to dietary supplements and pet nutrition, while also serving as a hub for global supply chains.

USA – BioVivo Science, a US-based manufacturer of high-quality botanical extracts and herbal powders, has announced the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art botanical extraction and toll processing facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

This milestone investment is designed to strengthen domestic supply chains and support multiple industries.

The facility, which officially opened in July 2025 following a USD 70 million investment, will host a celebratory event from September 22 to 26.

Guests will be given guided tours of the 100,000-square-foot cGMP-certified plant, meet with company executives, and learn more about BioVivo’s innovation-driven mission.

The new Jeffersonville facility positions BioVivo Science as a key player in reshaping the future of U.S.-based natural ingredient processing.

According to the company, the site will support industries ranging from food and beverage to dietary supplements, pet nutrition, and personal care, while also serving global supply chains.

The U.S. is among the largest markets for dietary supplements and functional ingredients, yet domestic large-scale extraction options remain scarce.

Many U.S.-grown botanicals currently need to be shipped overseas for processing before being re-imported as finished ingredients, a costly and time-consuming process that increases supply chain vulnerability.

By providing high-capacity, cGMP-certified processing capabilities, BioVivo aims to reduce reliance on international facilities and build a more transparent and reliable domestic infrastructure.

Chris Smith, Director of Strategic Operations & Supply Chain at BioVivo Science, said, “BioVivo Science is committed to reshaping how natural ingredients are sourced and processed in the United States.”

“Our Jeffersonville hub provides brands with a fully traceable supply chain and trusted, cGMP-certified partner for high-quality extraction and processing.”

The facility comes equipped with advanced features that highlight its scale and versatility.

These include cGMP-certified extraction and processing capabilities, formulation support for brand partners, and services spanning food, nutraceuticals, pet nutrition, and personal care.

Certifications such as Sedex and Kosher have already been secured, with FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, Halal, and NASC Preferred Supplier approvals in progress.

At full capacity, the Jeffersonville plant is expected to deliver more than 2,000 metric tons of powdered extract annually, with integrated processes including extraction, crystallization, spray drying, granulation, and blending.

Peak processing capacity could exceed 6,000 metric tons per year, with tolling services available to support external partners.

With this expansion, BioVivo Science not only enhances domestic manufacturing capabilities but also positions Jeffersonville as a strategic hub for botanical innovation, reliability, and global market growth.
