Clariant revolutionizes laundry care with launch of TexCare One Terra

The product was featured at SEPAWA Congress 2025 in Berlin.

SWITZERLAND – Clariant has introduced TexCare One Terra, a pioneering multifunctional polymer designed to enhance high-concentrate liquid laundry products, especially laundry capsules.

This next-generation polymer is engineered for superior cleaning performance even at low temperatures and in reduced dosages, making it ideal for the compact, ultra-concentrated formulations gaining traction in the laundry market.

According to Clariant, TexCare One Terra boasts a unique chemical structure that ensures excellent compatibility with concentrated capsule formulations.

It combines multiple benefits in a single ingredient: enhanced cleaning efficacy, detergency boost, and whiteness maintenance.

The polymer is highly efficient, requiring very low usage levels to deliver significant performance gains, which enables manufacturers to reduce capsule size without sacrificing cleaning power, even in short or cold wash cycles.

Dr. Christine Oberbillig, Global Marketing Manager Home Care & Sustainability at Clariant, “With TexCare One Terra, we’re responding directly to the industry’s need for innovative solutions that support the evolution toward even more concentrated and compact laundry products without compromising on cleaning performance.”

“This next-generation polymer helps our customers develop premium laundry capsules that combine convenience, resource efficiency, and superior cleaning power.”

Sustainability is a key aspect of TexCare One Terra. It supports eco-friendly formulations with high biodegradability, a Renewable Carbon Index, and incorporation of waste-based feedstocks.

These features contribute to lower energy and water consumption during washing, decreased plastic use, and reduced carbon emissions throughout the product’s lifecycle.

This launch underscores Clariant’s commitment to meeting the needs of environmentally conscious consumers and brands, advancing sustainable laundry solutions.

Clariant Q2 FY25 financial highlight

However, reported EBITDA margin was impacted by CHF 22 million(USD 27.64 million) in restructuring charges.

For the first half of 2025, Clariant’s sales increased by 1% in local currencies to CHF 1.981 billion(USD 2.49 billion), supported by growth in Care Chemicals and Adsorbents & Additives, while Catalysts sales were slightly lower.

The EBITDA margin before exceptional items for H1 2025 rose by 130 basis points to 18.1%, driven by improvements across all business units.

The company confirmed its EBITDA margin guidance of 17-18% for 2025 but adjusted its sales growth forecast to 1-3% in local currencies due to ongoing market uncertainties.
