UAE – Korea Town, a Korean beauty retailer based in Kuwait, has announced an ambitious regional expansion plan targeting 50 branches across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by the end of 2027.
This significant growth initiative is being executed in collaboration with Boutiqaat Group for Perfumes and Cosmetics under the “Powered by Boutiqaat” model.
This enables Korea Town to leverage Boutiqaat’s established e-commerce, logistics, and digital retail infrastructure, positioning it for accelerated growth in the Gulf market.
As part of this expansion, Korea Town has redesigned its flagship store at The Gate Mall in Kuwait City to offer an enhanced, innovative retail experience that combines physical store elements with authentic Korean beauty culture.
Their portfolio boasts more than 250 Korean beauty brands, spanning skincare, haircare, color cosmetics, accessories, and lifestyle products, reinforcing their standing as the Gulf’s key hub for Korean beauty (K-beauty).
The expansion underscores Korea Town’s strategic goal of consolidating its role as a cornerstone of the Gulf’s beauty retail landscape, setting new standards for growth, innovation, and consumer engagement.
This move not only taps into the rising demand for Korean beauty products in the region but also aligns with the GCC’s booming beauty and personal care market, projected to exceed USD 9.61 billion by 2025.
Korea Town’s hybrid retail approach, blending physical stores with digital touchpoints, aims to meet evolving consumer preferences for authenticity, product efficacy, and seamless shopping experiences.
The rollout of the 50 GCC stores is planned in phases between 2025 and 2027, with further details on market launches and locations expected soon.
This expansion is part of a broader global momentum in K-beauty, which is forecasted to grow from USD 11.56 billion in 2024 to USD 15.97 billion in 2029, reflecting a 6.5% CAGR.
This trajectory is fueled by rising consumer demand for natural and organic skincare, the influence of social media and beauty influencers, and the global popularity of K-pop and K-dramas that amplify Korean beauty culture.
Koreatown offers a wide range of authentic Korean cosmetics and beauty products, from skincare staples like snail mucin creams and sheet masks to innovative sunscreens, serums, and premium brands such as Laneige, Amorepacific, and Innisfree.
