WOW Skin Science expands skincare portfolio with new face wash

This launch positions WOW Skin Science at the forefront of ingredient-led skincare innovation in India.

INDIA – WOW Skin Science has made a significant entry into the matcha-led skincare market with the launch of its Japanese Matcha Mud Face Wash.

This product was unveiled in collaboration with Lucky Chan, a contemporary Japanese restaurant, and Superbrew, a matcha specialist.

The launch was celebrated at an immersive event, Matcha Matsuri, held at South Forum Mall in Bengaluru, blending Japanese beauty rituals, culinary delights, and interactive experiences for guests.

Manish Chowdhary, Co-Founder of WOW Skin Science, stated, “Japanese ingredients and rituals are rapidly reshaping global beauty, and we’re seeing Indian consumers embrace this shift with remarkable curiosity.”

“This event also marks our move toward more experiential, culture-first touchpoints that deepen the way consumers discover and engage with our innovations.”

According to the brand, attendees explored three themed zones: the Rice Water Zone, featuring a Rice Chopstick Challenge and giveaways; the Yuzu Zone, showcasing WOW’s Yuzu skincare range and citrus mocktails; and the Matcha Zone, where guests enjoyed freshly prepared matcha and learned about the new Matcha Mud Face Wash through a team-based Matcha Relay Challenge.

The Japanese Matcha Mud Face Wash is formulated with ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha, salicylic acid, and niacinamide, aiming to detoxify, balance oil, and soothe acne-prone skin.

It offers a gentle, soap-free cleanse and is tailored for Indian skin types and climate conditions, reflecting WOW Skin Science’s commitment to ingredient-led, science-backed skincare innovation.

The Matcha Matsuri event combined skincare discovery with Japanese culinary and cultural experiences, inviting guests to sample Lucky Chan’s menu of dumplings, maki rolls, and mocktails while engaging in gamified challenges.

Every challenge completed added items to a WOW pouch, with special hampers awarded to all attendees and extra rewards for winners.

Amit Ahuja, Founder of Lucky Chan, said, “Collaborating with WOW enabled us to merge our culinary perspective with their ingredient-led approach, allowing us to co-create an experience that truly celebrated Japan’s flavours and spirit.”

The launch expands WOW’s portfolio, which already includes the popular Yuzu Face Wash, and signals a broader trend toward global ingredients in local beauty routines.
