LVMH names Sylvia Tournery as President of Sephora Collection

Prior to her tenure at L’Oréal, she held positions at YSL and Cartier.

FRANCE – LVMH has appointed former L’Oréal executive Sylvia Tournery as President of Sephora Collection, the beauty retailer’s private-label brand, marking a strategic move to strengthen its in-house beauty portfolio and accelerate growth of its proprietary brand.

The appointment takes effect immediately, with Tournery joining Sephora’s Global Leadership Team and reporting directly to Guillaume Motte, President and CEO of Sephora and member of the LVMH Group Executive Committee.

In her new role, Tournery will lead Sephora Collection into its next phase of growth with a clear strategic mandate to accelerate product development and innovation, enhance the brand’s desirability and global appeal at scale, and reinforce Sephora Collection’s position as a strategic pillar within Sephora’s broader beauty offering.

Tournery brings nearly 20 years of beauty industry experience to the role, including more than 17 years at L’Oréal, where she held senior leadership positions across prestigious brands.

Most recently, she served as Global Deputy General Manager at Lancôme (L’Oréal Group), where, for the past two years, she oversaw the brand’s worldwide strategy, spanning from product development to 360-degree communication campaigns.

Her extensive career at L’Oréal also includes roles as Brand Director of Lancôme Travel Retail Worldwide, International Axe Director of Biotherm, makeup product manager for Yves Saint Laurent in Germany, and Product Manager for Viktor&Rolf and Cacharel France.

LVMH described Sephora Collection as a strategic pillar within Sephora’s broader beauty offering, reflecting the group’s ambition to strengthen its private-label business as retailer-owned beauty brands continue gaining importance in the global beauty market.

Guillaume Motte emphasized the significance of the appointment, stating that Sylvia will continue shaping the next chapter of growth for Sephora Collection as the brand celebrates the 30th anniversary of its very own love brand.

He noted that, alongside talented teams, Sylvia will further accelerate product leadership and strengthen the desirability of Sephora Collection globally, with her in-depth beauty expertise, strategic brand vision, and proven leadership skills serving as key assets in sustaining the brand’s solid momentum.

This appointment underscores LVMH’s strategic focus on enhancing product innovation and increasing the competitiveness of Sephora Collection within the increasingly competitive global beauty market, where retailer-owned private brands are gaining significant traction.

The move comes as LVMH’s Perfumes & Cosmetics division reported 2% growth in Q3 2025, supported by global demand for Dior Beauty and Guerlain, while Sephora continued driving the Selective Retailing division’s momentum with 7% growth in the third quarter.
