Woosh introduces new diapers featuring patented SeconDRY technology

BELGIUM – Woosh has launched a new baby diaper, Next Move, featuring advanced leak protection and high absorbency. 

The new diaper line incorporates DreamShields 360° leak barriers positioned at the front, back, and sides, providing comprehensive, multi-directional leak protection. 

In addition, the diaper includes Woosh’s patented SeconDRY technology, which absorbs liquid up to twice as fast as competing diapers, ensuring babies’ bottoms stay dry for up to 12 hours a day and night. 

This Next Move launch represents another significant step in Woosh’s journey to create a circular ecosystem for absorbent hygiene products while maintaining premium-quality protection for babies, continuing its innovative approach to combining superior performance with environmental responsibility.

Woosh is a Belgian startup based in Ghent/Bruges that partners with Ontex, a leading international personal care products developer, to co-develop diapers optimised for recycling, containing recycled materials. 

The company has already introduced diapers made with 100% recycled plastic for packaging and waterproof inner layers, as well as recyclable “give-back diapers” collected and recycled after use through daycare centre partnerships. 

Woosh plans to build its own recycling and R&D centre in Bruges to advance these sustainability goals. 

All Woosh diapers are premium-quality, dermatologically tested, hypoallergenic, and free of perfumes, lotions, and harmful chemicals, making them soft and gentle on sensitive baby skin.

The Woosh diaper service is distributed through more than 1,400 daycare centres and childminders across Belgium, and the product is also available to the general public through their online store. 

Currently, over 30,000 families in Belgium trust Woosh daily for their children’s diaper needs. 

Meanwhile, recently, Woosh partnered with Borouge International and BlueAlp to chemically recycle single-use baby diapers, converting them into pyrolysis oils that can be used to make new polymers. 

EU-28 estimates indicate disposable diapers generated about 6.73 million tonnes in 2017; most are incinerated or landfilled after a single use, yet Borouge highlights that the products contain valuable polyolefin-based films and nonwovens.

The project builds on Woosh’s existing give-back diaper system, which distributes diapers to homes and childcare sites across Belgium and collects them after use.
