The launch translates a familiar brand scent into a standalone product while staying true to the haircare identity that defines Olaplex.

USA – Olaplex, the haircare brand best known for its bond-repair formulas, has broadened into fragrance with the introduction of its limited-edition Signature Hair and Body Mist.
The scent was developed from the fragrance identity of the brand’s hero products, especially No. 3 Hair Protector and No. 7 Bonding Oil, giving the new release a direct link to the products that made Olaplex popular.
The mist opens with grapefruit zest, giving it a bright citrus character.
In addition, it combines sugared mint and ginger for a cool, refreshing feel, while crushed sage forms the base, adding a warmer finish to the fragrance.
According to Olaplex, the formula is made without sulfates, silicones, protein, phthalates, phosphate, or parabens.
The brand also says the mist can be layered with other Olaplex products to help the scent last longer and create a more lasting signature fragrance effect.
According to CEO Amanda Baldwin, the launch was driven by consumer requests for a wearable version of Olaplex’s signature scent.
The company saw demand from customers who wanted the brand’s familiar aroma in a fragrance format rather than only in haircare products.
The company said the launch was intended to meet demand for affordable hair care, noting that 77% of people in its community were interested in buying hair care products.
Olaplex’s fragrance debut, therefore, sits within a wider wave of brands extending beyond their original categories to capture new consumer demand.
The launch also fits into a broader industry pattern, as more personal care and beauty brands are expanding into scent.
In a similar move, Huda Beauty recently entered the fragrance space with Easy Bake Intense eau de parfum, a product positioned as the final step in a beauty routine and built around cherry and white floral notes.
PlusOne also joined the category with its Pheromone-Inspired Perfume Oils collection, which leans into mood and self-confidence themes tied to neurocosmetic trends.
Eos, meanwhile, launched a range of body mists in December 2025 as part of its entry into the US fragrance market, saying the move came after strong consumer interest in an Eos scent line following the success of its body care products.
At the same time, category expansion is happening in the other direction too, with E.L.F. Beauty moving into hair care through a six-piece prestige-quality range.
