Quadpack introduces Mahina Tottle packaging

The launch reflects a broader industry shift as skincare packaging evolves from purely functional containers into experience-enhancing brand touchpoints.

SPAIN – Quadpack has launched the Mahina Tottle, a hybrid tube-bottle packaging system designed specifically for low-viscosity skincare formulations such as serums and fluid lotions.

The design combines a squeezable multilayer container with a cold-touch metal roll-on applicator to deliver precise, hygienic dosing while enhancing the sensory experience of skincare application.

The Mahina Tottle’s soft, multilayer body offers more resistance than a conventional tube when squeezed, helping users intuitively control the amount of product dispensed and reduce waste.

An integrated on/off locking system prevents accidental leakage and keeps the roll-on ball clean between uses, supporting mess-free handling and improved hygiene.

The metal roll-on applicator features a cold-touch ball that facilitates direct, even application across the skin while encouraging massage-like movements for better distribution and absorption of the formula.

Mateia Crippa, senior category manager at Quadpack, stated that the lock system adds an extra layer of consumer control, aligning with growing market expectations for hygienic, waste-minimizing packaging.

In addition, she noted that the cold metal ball delivers an immediate cooling sensation on contact, which the company likens to “a cool touch of moonlight,” drawing on the name Mahina, a lunar deity in Hawaiian mythology.

According to Crippa, the combination of cold touch and massage action helps ensure even distribution of the formula, deeper absorption into the skin, and a refreshing, premium skincare ritual that goes beyond what conventional bottles or droppers can offer.

Recent innovations in precise dosing include Amcor’s Magic One airless dispensing system, designed to deliver accurate dosage angles, and Medicos’s bottle for La Roche-Posay, which features a dropper for the brand’s Hyalu B5 anti-wrinkle eye serum. Industry signals reinforce this direction.

AAK’s 2026 trend report describes skincare and hygiene as increasingly holistic, tech-enabled, and value-driven, while Symrise has created a dedicated Care & Wellness Division to meet global demand for well-being-oriented beauty products.

In parallel, Aptar Beauty has rolled out premium dispensing solutions aimed at brand differentiation and elevated consumer experiences.

For formulators and brands developing low-viscosity serums, essences, and fluid treatments, the Mahina Tottle offers precision dosing suited to potent, low-volume actives where over-application can be costly or counterproductive.

Its hygienic, travel-friendly architecture, enabled by the lockable roll-on, may reduce contamination risks compared with open jars or droppers.

Quadpack’s emphasis on controlled, intuitive gestures and sensory engagement suggests the Mahina Tottle targets prestige and dermocosmetic segments where user experience, perceived efficacy, and waste reduction are key purchase drivers.

This move comes shortly after Quadpack launched the Serenity Tube, a premium eye care packaging solution designed to transform the skincare experience into a serene, sensory ritual.
