Givaudan invests USD 160 million to expand fragrance & beauty manufacturing in Mexico

This investment reflects our long-term vision to create value through innovation and collaboration.

MEXICO – Givaudan has begun work on a new fragrances manufacturing facility in Pedro Escobedo, Mexico, while also opening an expanded Fragrance & Beauty ingredients site at the same location.

Together, the two projects represent more than USD 160 million in combined investment and underline the company’s push to deepen its regional footprint in Latin America.

The new greenfield compounding plant is designed to support fragrance production capacity of up to 20,000–25,000 tonnes by 2029.

At the same time, the expanded ingredients facility is now fully operational, adding immediate manufacturing strength at the Pedro Escobedo site.

According to Givaudan, the investment is meant to bring production closer to customers across the region, improving responsiveness to shifting market needs while supporting growth and sustainability goals.

The company frames the project as part of its local and regional strategy, aimed at building stronger customer relationships and reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in Latin America.

Maurizio Volpi, President, Givaudan Fragrance & Beauty, stated, “The new Pedro Escobedo site represents a forward-looking step for our Fragrance & Beauty business in Latin America.”

“By locating production closer to our customers, we reinforce our ability to respond to evolving market needs while advancing our sustainability and growth aspirations.”

The latest move builds on previous spending at Pedro Escobedo.

In 2024, Givaudan inaugurated an expanded production facility focused on encapsulation technologies, doubling capacity and accounting for 40% of its global capability in that area.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Givaudan revealed plans to invest CHF 55 million (USD 70.3 million) in building “Campus 52,” a dedicated centre of excellence for its House of Naturals division in Grasse, France.

This project follows the company’s recent land purchase in the renowned perfumery hub and underscores its focus on advancing natural ingredient development.

The facility will integrate key areas like agronomy, innovation, operations, and perfumery to produce premium, differentiated natural fragrance materials using advanced extraction methods and sustainable sourcing practices.

“Campus 52” combines a production plant with an innovation lab, enabling seamless teamwork among scientists, partners, and perfumers.
