Seppic appoints Virginie Cavalli as Chief Executive Officer

Cavalli’s mandate is to leverage Seppic’s R&D and industrial capabilities to support customers’ innovation pipelines while scaling the company’s international presence.

FRANCE – Seppic, a subsidiary of Air Liquide Healthcare and a global supplier of speciality ingredients for cosmetics, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, veterinary products and industrial applications, has appointed Virginie Cavalli as its Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026.

According to the company, Cavalli’s appointment is intended to reinforce Seppic’s leadership as it pursues its growth ambitions in speciality ingredients across personal care and related sectors.

Virginie brings deep expertise in business development, operational management and financial oversight, alongside an international strategic perspective that aligns with Seppic’s multi‑country footprint and customer base.

Virginie Cavalli holds a degree in business and financial strategy from EMLyon business school and began her career with the Air Liquide Group in 1992.

Over more than three decades with the group, she has held a range of functional and leadership roles across several business units and geographies, including assignments in France, the United States, Chile and Singapore.

Most recently, prior to her move to Seppic, Cavalli served as CEO of Air Liquide in Japan and, since 2023, as Deputy Group Vice President of Human Resources for the Air Liquide Group.

This combination of general management, international operations and group‑level HR leadership positions her to oversee both Seppic’s commercial strategy and its organizational development as part of Air Liquide Healthcare.

Seppic focuses on high‑value formulations and actives for beauty, health and industrial applications.

Cavalli’s appointment places an Air Liquide veteran with extensive cross‑border experience at the helm of Seppic, signalling continuity in governance while emphasizing business development, operational efficiency and a globally coordinated strategy.

The move comes as Seppic continues to advance its portfolio in areas such as skincare actives and biotechnology‑derived ingredients, including its Celtosome platform for targeted cosmetic efficacy.

According to Seppic, it has reached a milestone by precisely quantifying plant exosomes in its Celtosome range and demonstrating a direct, dose‑linked relationship between exosome concentration and measurable skin benefits.

Its biomass contains roughly 4,000 exosomes per plant cell, enabling a standardized concentration of about 50 million plant exosomes per microliter of active ingredient, a defined matrix intended to optimize skin targeting and provide formulators with a reproducible, quantifiable basis for efficacy claims.

To illustrate the concentration–efficacy link, Seppic highlights two marine‑derived Celtosome actives.

Celtosome Eryngium Maritimum (INCI: Eryngium Maritimum Callus Culture Filtrate), positioned for structural skin support and longevity, is used at 0.05% and corresponds to 720 million exosomes per gram of formula; in testing, this active was associated with a 103% increase in dermal hyaluronic acid production, a 34% rise in collagen I synthesis, a 34% increase in elastin, and a 12% reduction in the surface area of crow’s feet wrinkles after 28 days.

Celtosome Crithmum Maritimum (INCI: Crithmum Maritimum Callus Culture Filtrate), oriented toward skin clarity, radiance, and longevity, is used at 0.1% and delivers 1.44 billion exosomes per gram of cream.

Seppic frames this work as part of a broader shift toward “science‑backed beauty,” where brands must substantiate ingredients with clear data on concentration, standardization, biological activity, clinical relevance, and measurable benefits.
