Azelis names Dr. Pierre-Jean Hellivan as group platform leader for Flavours and Fragrances

This appointment fosters reliable interactions with international major clients and suppliers, all while preserving customized, location-specific offerings for producers of flavour and fragrance compounds.

BELGIUM – Azelis, a leading innovation service provider in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients sector, has named Dr. Pierre-Jean Hellivan as Group Platform Leader for its Global Flavours and Fragrances division, effective February 1, 2026.

In this position, Dr. Hellivan will oversee Azelis’s Global Flavours and Fragrances Platform, which integrates the company’s regional operations via a unified business and sales framework.

Anna Bertona, Group CEO of Azelis, stated, “Flavours and Fragrances customers increasingly require partners who can support them across regions while remaining close to local markets.”

“ Pierre-Jean’s deep industry knowledge and experience working across our global network position him well to lead this platform and further strengthen how we serve customers worldwide.”

Dr. Hellivan contributes over 25 years of expertise in the food, flavours, and fragrances fields.

He joined Vigon in 2011, and after Azelis acquired the company in 2021, he concentrated on handling worldwide key accounts and boosting cooperation across Azelis’s international structure.

He possesses a Doctorate in Business Administration centred on B2B customer interactions, and chairs the Chemical Sources Association.

In other news, Azelis has broadened its collaboration with SI Group via a fresh distribution deal spanning the EMEA region, enhancing access to specialized performance chemicals.

This move builds on prior successes and targets key product lines like alkylphenols and fuel additives.

The agreement, effective right away, appoints Azelis as distributor for SI Group’s alkylphenols lineup and widens its fuel additives offerings in performance chemicals.

It stems from strong joint performance, allowing expansion into additional products and territories across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

SI Group, a top producer of performance additives, process aids, pharmaceuticals, and intermediates, chose this to boost customer reach with customized support.

Azelis handles distribution in Nordic countries, Baltic states, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, the UK/Ireland, and the Balkans.

Meanwhile, Brenntag—SI Group’s partner since 2005- covers Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Maghreb nations, and South Africa.

This split leverages each distributor’s strengths in sales, tech know-how, and storage for optimal market penetration.

The expansion underscores Azelis and SI Group’s seamless teamwork, driving business growth and customer value, especially in sustainable fuels.

SI Group leads globally in performance additives tech, vital for plastics, rubber, fuels, lubricants, oilfield, and pharma sectors, with 19 plants across three continents serving 80 countries and 1,600 staff.

They earned a 2025 EcoVadis bronze for CSR, ranking top 35% worldwide. Azelis stands out as a prime innovation hub for speciality chemicals and food ingredients.
