The new grade expands Seppic’s Sepilife™ hybrid polymer portfolio by directly embedding natural-origin squalane into its liquid polymer technology.

FRANCE – Seppic has introduced Sepilife™ NEOS, a patented, squalane-infused liquid polymer designed to help formulators meet clean-beauty expectations without sacrificing performance or premium sensoriality.
The product positions the ingredient as a “hero” solution aligned with the rising use of squalane in skincare, which the company notes appears in around 11% of skincare launches and has grown on average by 9% over the past six years.
Sepilife™ NEOS is presented as fully aligned with clean-beauty criteria: it is non-microplastic (per the EU’s draft restriction on synthetic polymer microparticles), essential-oil-free, and carries a 65% natural-origin content assessed under ISO 16128. Anna Dessaint, product manager at Seppic, stated, “With Sepilife™ NEOS, we are bringing a new dimension to our hybrid polymer portfolio.”
“We empower formulators with a sensorial squalane-infused solution capable of raising the challenges of clean beauty concept without compromising on premium textures.”
According to Seppic, the ingredient shows good skin tolerance, based on a clinical test on 100 volunteers, and is supplied as a ready-to-use, energy-saving solution compatible with cold-process manufacturing, thereby reducing heating/cooling steps and associated energy use.
On application, Sepilife™ NEOS is described as delivering a distinctive sensory experience driven by the silky feel of its squalane phase. Its melting texture produces an immediate “quick-break” effect that releases the aqueous phase for a burst of freshness, then transforms into a soft, non-tacky finish without balling.
This profile is intended to support premium textures in clean-beauty formulations where consumers increasingly expect both efficacy and indulgent feel.
From a technical standpoint, Sepilife™ NEOS combines high-performance thickening and stabilization, enabling it to hold up to 35% oil phase without requiring additional emulsifiers or neutralization.
It is reported to offer excellent sprayability and broad compatibility across acidic pH, solvents, preservatives, alpha-hydroxy acids, and a wide range of polar to apolar oils. This flexibility allows formulators to tailor viscosity and craft a wide spectrum of textures, from lightweight sprays to rich emulsions, within a single polymer system.
The launch reinforces Seppic’s focus on rheology modification and clean-beauty innovation, offering a vegan, shark-sparing alternative that integrates squalane’s biocompatibility directly into a functional polymer platform.
