Henkel and All Free Clear introduces NaviLens technology

USA- Henkel-owned All Free Clear Detergent has partnered with NaviLens, a scanning and navigation app designed to aid people with blindness and low vision, becoming the first laundry care brand to incorporate NaviLens technology on its packaging.

This collaboration aims to provide greater independence to the seven million Americans with low vision, improving their daily laundry routines, shopping experiences and even interactions while using public transport.

By downloading the NaviLens app, users can scan the packaging using a smartphone and hear audible notifications about the product’s name, type, usage instructions, and store location.

Julia Galotto, vice president of marketing at Henkel, stated, “NaviLens technology can read product information and usage instructions, helping users more easily navigate their laundry routine.”

“Our All-Free Clear Mighty Pacs are premeasured detergent packs, eliminating the need for the dosing cup.”

“By combining the NaviLens technology with the convenience of our premeasured pacs, our updated packaging will help enable greater independence among those with low vision and blindness each day.”

Philipp Schaffer, Corporate Senior Vice President and Regional Head of Henkel, said, “With NaviLens technology on our All Free Clear mighty pacs original packaging, we aim to make laundry more accessible so people can complete this essential, everyday task with greater ease and peace of mind,”

“We are pleased to make laundry care more inclusive-from the store to home.”

In related news, All Free Clear has made a $25,000 donation to the American Foundation for the blind In support of Low Vision Awareness Month.

This contribution will help raise awareness about visual impairments, such as Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), which affects approximately 15 million people in the United States.

NaviLens technology was initially rolled out in public spaces such as metro stations and museums before being expanded to product packaging.

By introducing NaviLens technology, Henkel and All Free Clear set a new standard for accessibility in consumer products, empowering visually impaired individuals to live more independently while fostering inclusivity in everyday life.
