UK – Byoma, a UK-based skincare brand, has launched Phyto-Mucin Glow serum, a bio-based vegan alternative to snail mucin designed to strengthen the skin barrier and enhance hydration.
The Serum’s key ingredient, phyto mucin, is derived from Japanese plants and polysaccharide-rich roots. It provides glossy, bouncy skin while reinforcing the skin’s natural defences.
Other ingredients include a tri-ceramide complex, plant-based biopeptide, panthenol, and three molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, all of which work together to repair and reinforce the skin while maintaining hydration and calming sensitivity.
Marc Elrick, founder of Byoma, said, “Our Phytomucin Glow Serum is the result of over five years of research and development and brings to market what I feel is one of the most clinically efficacious and revolutionary serums ever developed.”
“It’s a breakthrough in barrier science: one serum to target all signs of a damaged skin barrier– delivering clinically validated glass skin from within.”
A study by Byoma found that users experienced improvements in their skin tone, with up to a 22% increase in brightness and a 34% reduction in redness after using the Phyto-Mucin Glow serum.
The product follows the launch of Byoma’s Barrier Repair Eye Cream, formulated with Barrier Lipid Complex, copper tripeptides, and ectoin to rejuvenate and restore dry under-eyes.
The product can be used as a primer for makeup application; it creates a smooth, hydrated base for makeup, ensuring even application and longevity.
In addition, its non-sticky, lightweight texture makes it comfortable to wear and prevents makeup from looking cakey.
The bio-based ingredients make the serum suitable for a wider range of consumers, including those who prefer vegan and cruelty-free products.
