Louis Vuitton unveils first makeup collection

FRANCE – Louis Vuitton, a French luxury fashion house,  is set to launch its first makeup line, La Beauté Louis Vuitton.

The new makeup line will feature 55 lipsticks, 10 tinted lip balms, and eight eyeshadow quads.

PAt McGrath, a renowned makeup artist, has been appointed as its Creative Director.

Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, said: “La Beauté Louis Vuitton is a natural business evolution, driven by our meticulous attention to quality, formula and innovation.”

“Through this new universe, we have the opportunity to further accompany clients in their everyday lives with purpose and pleasure while continuing to celebrate our creativity and heritage.”

Pat McGrath, recognised as one of the most influential makeup artists in the world, has extensive experience working backstage in the fashion industry.

She also founded her own successful beauty company, Pat McGrath Cosmetics.

McGrath has been a member of the Order of the British Empire since 2014 and was made a Dame in 2021, making her the first make-up artist to receive this honour.

McGrath stated,  “Working backstage for over 20 years at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to now play such a key role in the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, which is the result of extraordinary craftmanship, creativity and innovation.”

This new venture follows the success of Louis Vuitton’s fragrances and its long history of creating luxury travel accessories, including handbags, small leather goods, shoes, ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, travel items, fragrances, watches, and home decor.

Louis Vuitton’s parent company, LVMH, owns several prominent perfume and cosmetics brands, including Dior, Givenchy, and Guerlain. Additionally, LVMH owns the international beauty retailer Sephora.

Recently, Celine, a LVMH-owned brand, introduced its first makeup line, featuring a collection of 15 lipsticks named Le Rouge Celine.

Similarly, Cos, a London-based fashion brand under the H&M Group, is set to debut in the fragrance world with the launch of its first perfume collection, Cos Perfumery.

This collection features four exclusive eau de parfum scents and a line of candles crafted in Grasse, France, the historic heart of haute parfumerie.

The four perfumes in the collection are Auburn, Mythe, Fleuriste and Solaire.
