Clariant unveils new rheology modifier for stabilizing sunscreen formulation

This launch aligns with the trend of “Skinification of sun care,” where SPF is increasingly integrated into daily cosmetic products.

SWITZERLAND -Clariant, the Swiss multinational specializing in speciality chemicals, has introduced Aristoflex SUN, a new rheology modifier designed to address common challenges in sunscreen formulation.

This innovation enhances the stability of UV filters, ensuring the long-term integrity of formulations while improving SPF performance.

It also delivers luxurious textures and a light, fresh feel, catering to the growing demand for multi-functional skincare products that combine UV protection with other benefits.

The launch aligns with the growing “Skinification of sun care” (or daily sun care) trend, where SPF is increasingly integrated into daily cosmetic products, reflecting consumer demand for multifunctional skincare solutions that combine UV protection with diverse skincare benefits.

Aristoflex SUN is cold-processable, offering formulators the convenience of a pre-neutralised polymer that excels in thickening and texturizing while maintaining optimal UV filter stability.

Aristoflex SUN contains Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer and Sodium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate.

These synthetic polymers act as rheology modifiers, stabilizing UV filters, enhancing SPF values, and delivering luxurious textures with a light and fresh feel.

This new rheology modifier addresses the growing demand for lightweight textures in daily sun protection factor (SPF) products.

Sophia Kim, Global Marketing Manager Skin Care at Clariant, said, “With the growing trend toward multi-functional skincare products, Aristoflex SUN helps formulators elevate sun care solutions with superior stability, SPF performance and sensory appeal.”

“As experts in rheology modifier technology, we deliver solutions that meet the market’s need for high-performance, protective products.”
