Clarins earns global B Corp Certification

By earning B Corp™ certification Clarins strengthens its standing as a global leader in the industry driving innovation to benefit both the environment and society.

GLOBAL – Clarins, a French multinational cosmetics company, has received global B Corp Certification for its Clarins and myBlend brands, underscoring its steadfast dedication to social and environmental business practices.

This milestone places Clarins among a community of companies committed to balancing economic success with environmental and social impact.

According to Clarins, by joining a community where fewer than 2% of certified companies are large businesses, it reaffirms its commitment to combining strong economic performance with a positive social and environmental impact.

Virginie Courtin, Managing Director of Clarins Group, stated, “B Corp™ is totally in line with this conviction that we are responsible for future generations and this label demonstrates a commitment deeply rooted in our history.”

“More motivated than ever by this certification, we will continue to innovate and look for ever more positive and regenerative solutions to move towards an increasingly responsible business model that meets the expectations of our customers, our employees and the planet.”

The B Corp Certification signifies a company’s dedication to harmonizing economic success with accountability towards social and environmental responsibilities.

Clarins has made strides in reducing carbon emissions, achieving an impressive 48% reduction between 2019 and 2024, and has transitioned 98% of its freight operations away from air transport to minimize environmental impact.

In addition to environmental efforts, Clarins has championed gender equality, with women representing 62% of its top management and achieving a gender equality index of 94/100 at its French sites.

As part of its sustainability initiatives, Clarins aims for 80% of the plants in its herbarium to be certified organic by 2025 and for one-third of its formulas to incorporate sustainably sourced crops by 2030.

By achieving B Corp™ certification, Clarins further cements its position as an industry leader, consistently innovating to create a positive impact on both the planet and society.

Meanwhile, Clarins partnered with Albea cosmetics and Fragrance, a beauty and packaging company, to provide a cap and inner cup for the refillable Extra-Firming Cream Technology.

The caps will be manufactured at Albéa Simandre in France using recycled PET, while the inner cup will be made from tinted virgin PP.

The inner cup is designed to be removable once empty and can be replaced with a new refill.

According to Albéa, refilling the cream twice can reduce its environmental footprint by 84%.
